Mission: Active, life-long study of the humanities enriches individuals and communities. The Chicago Humanities Festival creates opportunities for persons of all ages to explore, enjoy and support the humanities. It accomplishes this goal through the creation of an annual humanities festival and supporting programs throughout the year that: bring the best humanists and artists to Chicago audiences; showcase and celebrate the riches of many cultures; bring new and diverse audiences to the humanities; foster collaboration among Chicago's cultural and educational institutions; enrich the participation of schools, teachers, and students in the humanities; and, draw international attention to Chicago's cultural life.
