Programs: Distracted driving campaign:a multi-pronged approach was proposed this year, with special emphasis on working with high schools in both states. Aaa carolinas presented academic achievement awards through the nchsaa and the foundation was present at many of these events with a distracted driving message delivered through videos, personal testimony of distracted driving victims and various materials such as magnetic bumper stickers and support bracelets. A distracted driving panel from nc's eight nchsaa regions was created and used to improve communication with high school teens on traffic safety issues, especially texting while driving. Traffic safety education:the foundation purchased traffic safety education brochures from national to distribute in all branch offices and insurance-only offices, to community groups and schools. Support materials for school safety patrol recognition and holiday traffic safety breaks.
