Blue Horse is an amazing place. The care given to the animals there goes above and beyond beyond. Rabiah puts her heart and soul into caring for each and every animal in her care. This rescue is a healing place for both the animals and the people who go there it’s a very special place run by a very special person.
Blue Horse Mukwa offers a space place for both horses & humans. Rabiah has created a sanctuary that offers healing, growth and education. At Blue Horse, volunteers and visitors are able to experience a holistic & relationship based connection with horses while also learning what it takes to care for these magnificent animals. Horses receive top care, patience and understanding; all of which are vital for horses coming from troubled backgrounds. It truly is “healing the world, one horse at a time”.
Rabiah Seminole is a true animal lover and lives her life for the improvement of conditions for all animals ... a top rescue .. caring and compassionate!!
BlueHorse is and absolutely fantastic rescue! They help so many animals! ❤️❤️❤️
It was on my birthday in march of 2013 or 2014 my horse of 29 years had passed away and I wanted to honor her so I was looking for a horse rescue to raise funds for thru the birthday gifts I might receive from friends and family to go directly to. I live in Oregon and looked everywhere for a horse organization that was as diligent about keeping people informed about what was going on at the farm as they were about taking care of the animals. I landed on Blue Horse Mukwa because I saw posts and articles with pictures and information about funding and what was happening there, EVERY DAY! I am proud to be a supporter of such an organization with great integrity and excellence.
I believe Rabiah Seminole has created a perfect example for what every non profit animal rescue should be doing. I'm with her all the way 100%.
I hope someday to actually visit them.
Visited this rescue recently and had the opportunity to meet Rabiah and the horses. As someone who has worked in rescue myself, I am impressed! Rabiah is dedicated and kind and Blue Horse is truly a sanctuary for every living being on the property. The horses and other animals are well cared for and loved beyond measure. I am so grateful to Rabiah for all she does
Blue horse is a place that’s helps any living creature heal whether it be a horse or a human. Rabiah will do anything an her power to take up for a helpless being. Rabiah is one of the best and has created something beautiful!!
I used to volunteer at this rescue about 9 years ago and did so for several years! I’ve volunteered at a few but this one stands out above the rest! Rabiah is not only an amazing person but she is in the top of her class when it comes to taking care of not only horses but literally any living thing! If it breathes and is hurt she will do everything in her power and abilities to nurse it back to health and this I have seen first hand! My beautiful wife now goes out there and volunteers and she always comes home excited about her day! This rescue deserves nothing but the greatest things in life, and that is my honest opinion!
This Rescue is top notch. Rabiah never refuses to help any animal that needs it. Over the years they have saved many horses, dogs, cats and even pigs!!! Love this rescue!!!
I read about this place on FB few years ago and decided to go visit. Impressed doesn't begin to explain the bond I saw between Rabiah the animals and the land! She goes above and beyond to save and take care of all the animals under her care. She is a special lady and runs a special kind of rescue!
I friend Rabiah on Facebook and chatted back and forth until one day I decided to visit. I was so impressed with her operation and her love of all living things just radiats from her. Rabiah gives refuge to all species of animals with love and tender care. The volunteers that work there are just as committed to seeing that all are taken care of to the best of their ability. I went to see Misqua her newly born horse and Hogan a dog who had been badly abused in the county I live in. It was a joy to see the colt but to see Hogan thriving and happy was just amazing. Rabiah has the touch if an angel. Charlene Harris
Blue Horse rescue is truly just that. It is an amazing center run by a woman whose every molecule is driven to save as many as possible. I had the privilege of witnessing her work her magic with a horse that had just arrived from a horrible situation and was in pretty bad shape. Now that animal along with many others not only live on at Blue Horse they thrive.
Whenever and however you may become aware of animal abuse of any form and you think I wish there was something I could do.....you can by donating, volunteering or spreading the word about this wonderful woman and her center of healing and love.
This rescue has done amazing things. From horses to chickens, many animals have been saved and given a second chance. The operator truely has a gift. I have seen animals come in that you would think would never make it and with love and compassion they have pulled through.
Rabiah is an amazing person that is dedicated to making the lives of so many animals better. Also thank you to the volunteers for all you do.
I volunteer on weekends with this rescue and there are no words to describe how wonderful this place is for the animals and how much of a blessing Rabiah is to them! Being behind the scenes working with these gentle giants gives you a whole new perspective on the roles one plays to save an animal and restore their health! All of the animals at Blue Horse receive the much needed care they need but they also receive lots of love and attention not only they crave but it is therapy for the ones who work there as well! Working side by side with Rabiah takes a whole new meaning to teacher and mentor, she saves lives as well as gives you positive feedback to grow in your journey with these animals! I highly recommend Blue Horse Mukwa not only for the animals in need, but also encourage other volunteers to give just a portion of their time as well... it’s more than worth it!
I am a fine art artist and just did a month fundraiser at Blue Horse little gallery in 2019 for the animals.
There are no words to describe the endless and boundless love and dedication the owner Rabiah Seminole extends to all the animals in her care. Such a beautiful and peaceful retreat for all who have seen and experienced neglect and or cruelty. The excellent, medical care given to these animals is just incredible and evident by how so many of them return to healing and smiling. Gechie, the dog, is a resent success story. His hair is growing back and he seems so happy now. Love Blue Horse Mukwa rescue farm!
This is an amazing wonderful place for animals that have seen cruelty in their past and Will no longer have to fear that happening again
Rabiah Seminole is truly an amazing woman
As a neighboring rescue, we have worked with Rabiah and Blue Horse Mukwa for many years. This is a top notch organization that provides loving care and compassion for the many animals that call Blue Horse Mukwa home. It is Verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. The facility is beautifully maintained and the animals are provided with diets and medications tailored to their individual needs. Rabiah’s generous spirit extends beyond her animals to other rescue organizations, and she is always the first to offer assistance to whoever needs an extra set of caring hands. She is a genuine asset to Virginia’s equine rescue community, supporting both the animals and the other groups and individuals trying to help them. We could not recommend this organization more highly.
We have known Rabiah and Blue Horse Mukwa for over twelve years. Throughout that time, Rabiah has worked tirelessly to provide homes for animals discarded by others, or for whom no other safe haven was available. Blue Horse has been Verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and this is a well-deserved credential. Here, animals receive meticulous care from conscientious volunteers. They are safely housed and handled, receive needed veterinary care and live the remainder of their lives at the Sanctuary. Rabiah is not only the rescuer of the horses in her care, she is also quick to offer assistance to neighboring rescues, serving as an additional resource to others who are trying to help save them. She is a credit to this community and we are happy to give this credit where it is due.
Although I have not had the opportunity to visit the center personally I have followed Rabiah and Blue Horse for many years. My interest is because of the care and compassion she exhibited with a horse named Amigo. Amigo was a friend's horse who was abused and abandoned by his new owner and rescued by Rabiah. She restored his health and gave him love and safety for his remaining years. Through her photos and stories I have watched countless animals be restored and loved...like Hogan, the dog, that others have mentioned. She is a staunch advocate for stopping animal abuse. She provides a physically beautiful environment and love/caring/compassion for all the rescues be they little chickens, baby squirrels, cat, dogs or big horses.
Rabiah does wonderful things for animals and people. Truely a wonderful place!
I saw hogan - A severely abused soul who was in need of a savior. Rabiah and blue horse Mukwa not only provided a safe haven to help him heal but they gave him love so he can thrive
As the founder of my own organization, barriers against repeated cruelty, I have to step up and applaud Rabiah and her organization for their commitment their compassion in their drive to continue helping those in need
Wonderful support & assistance with a variety of pets a few of us wanted to adopt, in some cases, and were no longer able to care for in others. A terrific, dedicated staff & a great facility!
I have watched Rabiah work miracles with animals that have found their way to Blue Horse. She provides them with love, nourishment and shelter. She truly has the greatest heart.
Your an amazing rescue!! You go above and beyond!!!
Blue Horse an d Rabiah do a wonderful job taking care of all the animals at the facility. She is amazing. I don't know how she does all she does for the animals. She is "Superwoman"!!
We know Rabiah since over 10 years and admire her commitment and passion to bring healing to animals and through them to people as well. She never turns away from even the most challenging case of abuse and works tirelessly to make sure the animals are safe for the rest of their lives. Blue horse mukwa is always worth the visit, to feel what a difference a few people can make in the lives of so many as rabiah's enthusiasm and drive to continue and grow affects visitors and people lending a helping hand alike. Well, you don't just visit, you'll end up falling in love with the resident and the mission and before you know it, you'll be out on the field passing out hay ….:)
While restoring an old tobacco farm, I found Blue Horse while searching for an ethical source of fertilizer. I probably annoyed Rabiah with a dozen animal care questions before getting manure, but it is important to know the animals are well loved and well fed. From my first visit, I've been impressed with the level of care each animal gets daily. The owner and volunteers provide fine quality of life at Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center.
I was asked by a fellow animal advocate if I knew of Blue Horse because she going to donate money for a horribly abused pit bull named Hogan had taken in that needed much medical assistance and prayers. I did some research and found they were an amazing organization that walked the talk and would go above and beyond to help an animal, any animal to the end of this earth. Rabiah Seminole's post telling of the horrible shape that Hogan was in and her heartfelt words in the beginning of his journey were touching and brought tears to my eyes. Team Hogan was formed and I followed each day the postings and updates of this incredible little warriors strength to survive and shared it on our Facebook page. I am so happy I was asked for that initial reference because I learned of an amazing Rescue organization and its Founder Rabiah and her dedication to all living creatures.
My boyfriend and I lived in Boydton, VA for 10 months. During that time we both were volunteers at Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center. Rabiah is such a caring and generous person to open up her heart and home for these animals. She cares for each horse, dog and cat as individuals and each one has a story. She has dedicated her life unconditionally to these animals and it truly takes a special person to do that. The staff is not to be left out - without them I cannot imagine how Rabiah would do it all. This is a cause close to my heart and I am happy that these animals have such a wonderful place to go on their retirement and rescue. They are all loved and cared for beyond measure. I am proud to know Rabiah and her staff and call them my friends!
I use to live in va . My friend an I helped out at this rescue. The lady that runs this is a very caring an wonderful person. She puts her heart an soul into this 24_7 every animal that comes to her she shows so much compassion an love. Blue horse is the best place. For the animals. Rebia an her mom are the best people.they have a.heart of gold.
Rabiah & Blue Horse Mukwa Equiine Retirement & Rescue Center deserve so much credit because they provide the best of care for any thing that comes to their facility. She truly loves animals & is a very talented, resourceful individual, as well.
This organization has always jumped in to help whenever they could. They take excellent care of the horses & dogs/kitties, etc. in their care. The founder is a kind caring soul, too.
Blue Horse Mukwa made it possible for our elderly paint mars to live out her retirement there. The best of care anywhere! Lots of love in the air there!!! :)
Rabiah's commitment and dedication to caring for the horses and other animals that are fortunate enough to find their way to Blue Horse greatly deserves support. The pitiful stories of many of the animals before they reach the center are hard to imagine after seeing the wonderful condition of those animals now.
My daughter worked as a volunteer regularly for the past couple of years and I have seen first hand how Rabiah cares for each animal, no matter the difficulty of the situation or decisions needed.
Without Rabiah and the Blue Horse Mukwa, I believe most of the resident animals would have perished under terrible circumstances.
I know the founder of this group and keep in touch through FB. The organization has saved endless lives and brought animals back from the brink of death, with love, care and lots of medical treatment. They are gentle, wise, loving and the animals respond in kind. It is a remarkable group and deserve the highest of praise and support.
As a volunteer at Blue Horse I must say; the animals there are well cared for and nurtured to their fullest. It is a wonderful place for people and animals alike to be at.
I started volunteering at Blue Horse when Rabiah first started the rescue in Chesapeake, I have seen it grow from a few horses there to her selling everything and relocating to Chase City for the horses. She could get more land for them there. Rabiah and her volunteers made this move and turned this property from a place where we were told no birds were ever around to a place filled with birds that sing the sun up and down. For Rabiah this is a labor of love, and labor she does. Blue Horse is run solely by volunteers, and when there are none Rabiah is there she has no vacation days or sick days. It's funded by donations, by kind hearted people with a love for animals supporting the great work she does, without those donations Blue Horse will cease to spread the help and love for the animals as well as the people that have been touched. Please don't let that happen.
I have been with Blue Horse from the Day Rabiah had the idea to start the Rescue. She has Dedicated her life to the horses and other animals at Blue Horse. As a retired Vet. Tech I can say with out a doubt that the animals there receive the best of care. Rabiah is very diligent in filing all of the required paperwork, I remember the day she received her 501C3, not many people know the work that goes into getting that. That is on top of the work that goes into running the rescue. For Rabiah it is truly a labor of love, no matter what the weather she is out with the horses feeding and making sure that each has clean water and the stalls are clean. If the volunteers don't show up she does their work and always has a hug or kiss for the horses. She also takes the time to show a family around or to take a child's hand to help them brush a horse. I have the utmost respect for her and what she is doing. The world needs more people like her. It would be a much better place.
I just met Rabiah and learned about Blue Horse a few months ago through a mutual friend.
I had been away from the community for nearly 30 years and then cloistered with in home care for my ill father so I had no idea that we had anything of this type around. Nor could I fathom the scope of care and work that is so needed yet so often neglected that is being done not only here but throughout the state and even the country.
Rabiah is totally dedicated and committed to the care, safety and rehabilitation of not only the specific animals that are fortunate enough to come to Blue Horse but also using her knowledge and connections to place other animals with people and organizations in other areas. In addition to that she also works closely with different community organizations to help them place and or care for animals that come into their control.
A short visit to "show you some horses and let you look around" was proof of some of the words spoken by others here. This facility not only helps the various animals that it touches but also numerous people that come in contact with it and them. Because of that and the limited choices of roles available to describe my relationship I say here that I went from Volunteer to Client Served.
A family friend invited us to visit Blue Horse 4 years ago because it was the half-way point between her home and ours and she thought my niece might enjoy seeing the horses. I went into it with the attitude of "I don't want to wake up early on a day off but since Hailey will enjoy it I'll make the sacrifice". Little did I know how incredible the experience would be and how important Blue Horse would become to my niece and myself.
I've always been a little afraid of horses, but Rabiah walked me all over the rescue that first day and took the time to tell me each animal's story. I have been in love with Blue Horse and the animals (and people!) there ever since. I'm no longer afraid of horses in the least because Blue Horse has shown me what spiritual, beautiful souls they are. When our family left, my father's only comment was, "These people are truly doing God's work." Blue Horse is an incredibly special place. The only way to truly understand the magic of Blue Horse is to visit yourself. Rabiah and her volunteers have provided hundreds of abused, unwanted animals with a final home filled with the love and compassion they deserve, and you can truly feel the peace and gratitude emanating from those animals the minute you set foot on the property.
I live 2.5 hours away from Blue Horse and not being able to get there easily is a weekly ache in my heart. I've never known more selfless, compassionate people than those that I have met at Blue Horse, and I miss both the people and the animals on a daily basis. I have had the pleasure of staying at Blue Horse for several weekends over the last few years, and it is mind-boggling how much work goes into running Blue Horse each day. I have no idea how Rabiah manages to do it 365 days a year. It is not unusual for her to be the only person there, taking care of 40 or so horses, the pigs, the cats, the dogs, and any other animal who shows up and needs help. Only true love and complete commitment to the well-being of these animals would cause a person to work so tirelessly from 4:00a.m. until 6:30p.m.+ every single day of the year, no matter the weather, illness, external stress, holidays, etc. Blue Horse is an incredibly special place and I will be forever thankful that I found Rabiah and those precious animals. I wish I could see them every day.
I was in the area visiting a friend and volunteered with her at Blue Horse. Rabiah and her volunteers put a lot of effort into providing a loving, caring environment for abandoned and abused horses and other animals. Rabiah is all about making Blue Horse there final home and making them as comfortable as possible.
I actually met Rabiah before this when my friend had told me about a dog in my area that had escaped from a person trying to bring it back to Rabiah, after the humans who adopted it left it behind when they moved. She and another volunteer/contributor drove to South Carolina, after several of us had spotted the dog, but could not get him to come to us. Long story short, the dog is now back living with her at Blue Horse and is healthy and happy.
Take a trip to Blue Horse and let Rabiah show you around or go to the website and make a donation, purchase one of her photographs or something from the Tack Shop. All proceeds go to taking care of the critters.
A most wonderful and loving organization! Just look into the eyes of the rescued animals and you feel the oneness of nature, the compassion of trust, and the importance of respect.
I am Joseph E. Epps, Second Vice President and Director of MacCullu m More Museum. I first met Rabiah Seminole the Director of Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center in 2005. I was the President of the Chase City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She had opened a Tack and Gift Shop to benefit the Rescue Center. I was there to greet her and others attending the Grand Opening. We bonded instantly and I have been a supporter of Blue Horse since then.
Currently as the Director of MacCallum More Museum, we have a rotating exhibit of regional, national and local artist. We are the only Museum to feature the works of living artist in South Side VA.
Not only does Rabiah run an outstanding rescue center, she is also an outstanding artist/photographer or horses, dogs, and flowers. She opened the museum's artist season for the past two years. Her exhibit was called, Hooves, Paws and Petals with the proceeds benefiting the Rescue Center and MacCallum More Museum. Her sales were number one due to the huge number of supporters of the Rescue Center. There were patrons from Richmond, Virginia Beach, Washington, DC and local communities.
I have been to the Rescue Center on many occasions as I am a huge animal lover and am impressed with the work being done there. One of my first pets as a young boy of 12 was a retired race horse. Blue Horse Mukwa is a major asset to the Chase City and Mecklenburg County Area.
Rabiah also had an article written in Scotland about the Rescue Center which featured many of her photographs of the horses from the Center. This publication brought recognition to Chase City which was wonderful for the community.
Blue Horse Mukwa is about 3 hours from me, but well worth the two trips I have made to visit. I was so impressed with the cleanliness and how the various animals are cared for. There is so much love for these animals and they have really benefited from this TLC. Some were sick or starving when they were rescued and it is so beautiful to see the difference after they have been there even a short time. Blue Horse Mukwa is a first class retirement and rescue center.

Thank you so much for your kind words and your support!
Blue Horse has been a part of our community for more than a decade and has become a vital asset for citizens and local officials as well. Our county, with limited resources, turns to Bluehorse for assistance and expertise with abused and abandoned horses and other animals as well. They have formed a partnership which works will for the benefit of horses and other large animals that the county otherwise could not deal with.
The rescue routinely hosts clinics and open houses, allowing kids and people who have little exerience with horses meet and get to know these magnificent animals.
Rabiah, the owner and operator of Blue Horse, is completely and totally dedicated to helping the animals and each and every animal at the rescue is treated with dignity and respect. Most importantly, the animals are loved.
Blue Horse is a textbook example of what every animal rescue should be.
Blue Horse Mukwa is an amazing animal rescue. Here we have a woman who has dedicated her life to saving animals of all sizes and doing so much good in her community. I first met Rabiah through my daughter who took horse riding lessons and then became a volunteer at Blue Horse. Whenever she came home she would gush about how amazing it is to work with someone so passionate about animals and about how at home she felt when she was there. Blue Horse is the main place that sealed it in her brain that she would be involved in animal rescue for the rest of her life. I have seen the healing that happens there and believe if there is any rescue that be recognized, then it be Blue Horse Mukwa.
I met Rabiah Seminole at an art show she was giving to benefit her horses. I asked her if I could come to her Rescue and we set up an appointment. I was so happy to see such a wonderful place for horses, dogs, cats and other animals. When I arrived, a little "dumpster puppy" had been brought in. She was in horrible shape and close to death, Rabiah nurtured this tiny helpless creature back to health with love, vet care and good food. She is now a very energetic and happy puppy. This is the story of every animal that finds a home at the Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center. Rabiah works tirelessly to make sure every animal receives good nourishment and love. The volunteers (all ages) that come here are also very devoted to help with whatever they can do. I am amazed at all the young people who just put their hearts and souls into their work. They learn so much from Rabiah. This is an Amazing place run by an Awesome woman.
Having always loved horses, I wanted to find a way to help them. I found out about Rabiah's Blue Horse rescue when it was located in Chesapeake, VA. and immediately sought her out. That was in 2004, and I continue to be impressed and amazed with the unending work and devotion she gives, to all the animals seeking shelter and love. Without a doubt, they receive more than just the necessities of life. I do believe Rabiah has and often does, go beyond the normal requirements for safe rescue. Going without sleep or providing for herself, she will go the distance to help an animal in distress.
II have been around this rescue for over ten years as a volunteer.I came to Blue Horse to learn about horses ,my dream was to someday own my own horse . At Blue Horse I learned horses from the hoof up . I now have two of my own. Blue Horse is a wonderful place. !! The animals are all well cared for and happy. The people that come here are amazed when they hear the horses ' stories and see them well and happy. Also at Blue Horse there are dogs, cats pigs, a duck , a pet chicken, and anything else that needs help. Blue Horse is not just a rescue and retirement center is is a haven of love and peace.
Ever since I was a small child I wanted a horse but I knew I didn't know enough about caring for a horse to own one. Then Blue Horse Mukwa moved to Chase City, Va. My husband is a reporter and did a story on the rescue and said you need to meet this woman Rabiah. I quickly went out and met her and all the animals and she let me brush a horse on my first day. I was so excited !!! That was seven years ago and I have been out there most of the time . Rabiah was willing to teach me about horses, horseback riding, feeding, and training. Now thanks to her I have two amazing horses. So many dreams have been fullfilled at Blue Horse 4 legged and two legged. We help children there also and I have seen amazing results, One boy was going to kill himself and now he is happy, I have seen grades go from F's to A's. Bad attitudes change to good ones. People doing community service go from uncaring to showing love and compassion. I have seen animals that were starved and dehydrated go from skin and bones to beautiful and healthy. Everyone is welcomed there !!! The animals are well taken care of and loved. Blue Horse truly is a magical place. And I feel they should be # 1 on your list. Thanks again, Cheryl Weston
So impressed! !! My son has been volunteering at Blue Horse Mukwa since 2009 whenever he has free time. My grandchildren have been exposed to horseback riding at Blue Horse which began with instructions in proper equine care. Rabiah has a big heart and can't turn away animals in need. She always has the time to explain the proper care of animals. All of the animals get excellent care which appears to be personalized to their specific needs. Rabiah works long hours, rising before the sun and there is no work left undone despite the weather.
Most of the animals are there because former owners could not care for them and some animals were exposed to neglect, abuse, or abandonment. Donations to this animal retirement and rescue center will go towards compassionate care.
I was given Rabiah's phone number by a friend and called her to see if she could provide any help to a very neglected horse. She immediately sprung into action and was the answer to my prayers. This horse was taken from a dismal and dangerous situation to one of utmost luxury. Rabiah rescued this horse and provided her with a new stall, beautiful, safe surroundings, and people who cared for her. It was clear that this horse who had spent 8 years in extremely cramped isolation, was now free to run and live a glorious new life. If not for Rabiah and the work she does, there would be no solution to ending the abuse of this fine and resilient animal. We are so fortunate to have Rabiah and Blue Horse Mukwa to turn to. She makes the world a better place for humans as well as animals.
I began volunteering at Blue Horse when I was 13 years old. I am now 25 and have learned so many valuable life lessons from Rabiah and the herd of incredible horses at Blue Horse. The rescue is truly a healing place, not just for horses but for people as well! Each horse at Blue Horse is treated with dignity and respect and receives wonderful, loving care; no matter what their background or history. There is something incredibly healing about horses and their healing presence can be felt at Blue Horse the second you step onto the property!
I have been familiar with Blue Horse Mukwa for 10 years now. My band has performed annual benefit concerts for her cause. Rabiah Seminole and her volunteers puth their hearts and souls into the preservation and rehabilitation of the equines she accepts to take in. I have seen some horrid cases of equine abuse come to Blue Horse that have been rehabilitated and go on to live healthy and happy lives. Over the last couple of years I have become more involved as a volunteer and recently my wife and I have come to serve on Blue Horse's Board of Directors. With today's economy, costs of taking care of the equines has risen while donations have expectly fallen. It is a very challenging environment for all nonprofit to raise funds. Please check out Blue Horse Mukwa at bluehorsemukwa.org.
I have been involved with Blue Horse Mukwa Retirement and Rescue Center since it was first established in 2003 in Chesapeake, VA. Rabiah as always provided exceptional care to every horse, dog, or other animal that came to the rescue and retirement center. I visited Chase City when she first moved the rescue center there to provide more land for the Horses. I again visited 2 1/2 years later (now living in California) and was greatly impressed by the improvements made. New barns, fencing, water facets near each field for easy trough filling, another new barn in the process of being built, etc. It was amazing how wonderful everything looked. Rabiah is an amazing person who has always put the welfare of the animals before herself. Her love of the horses she cares for shows in the work that she does and anyone who says different either does not know her or has a issue with the work she does in general. To know her is to love her. Thank you for everything you do and the care you give to the horses, especially Ongie.

Blue Horse is a wonderful equine rescue that takes in abused, neglected and unwanted equines of all shapes and sizes. All of the horses are very well cared for and it is amazing to me to see the changes that even a month can bring to each of the horses that arrives at Blue Horse. Rabiah has taught me a different way to be around horses and how to treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve.

I was very disappointed to discover that this organization has not fulfilled the requirements imposed upon it by the Office of the State Veterinarian in Virginia. In this state, all releasing agencies (rescues, shelters) are required to submit annual reports disclosing how many, and what kind of animals came through their facility, and the disposition of the animals in the facility. This rescue has never filed those reports, and when an inquiry was made as to why, the volunteers and founder were uncooperative and defensive. Unfortunately, no member of the public is able to determine what the rescue is doing with donor gifts, as no one is able to determine how many animals are in the facility, and how many died, were adopted, or transferred to another facility. It is supposed to be an equine rescue, though the founder states she also has dogs. Canine rescue is not part of their mission statement. To my knowledge the rescue still has not complied with Virginia law. Some of the documentation required by the State Corporation Commission was also delinquent, though I have not checked to see if that has been rectified. I will not donate to this nonprofit, nor would I recommend this nonprofit to other donors. The nonprofit and its supporters appear to believe their good intent is all that is required to be a

Upon becoming acquainted with Blue Horse Mukwa we were so moved by the need it serves and by the love and care provided by the owner and volunteers for the animals mental and physical well being. This we wanted to be a part of. The animals come from tragic backgrounds, but with the excellent care at Blue Horse, they are able to live out a more pleasant life. The community is served by Blue Horse which provides an opportunity for youthful volunteers to learn the value of hard work and the moral and ethical treatment of animals under the watchful tutelage of the owner, Rabiah. All lives benefit from being touched by Blue Horse. Much hard has gone into, and continues to go into improving Blue Horse from its beginning. The achievement is remarkable.
I have had experience with this center first hand. My daughter volunteers there every saturday and alot in the summer. She has been so touched by Rabiah and all of the animals there. I cant think of a more angelic person than Rabiah, she goes above and beyond for every animal and every person she comes in contact with. There have been some awful cases of abuse and neglect that she has had to face but as always she endures and all the animals are the greater for her being there voice. Each and every aniaml there is cared for with the best of care. She has taught my daughter how to be a great human being and it starts with the next generation to teach kindness and awareness. Hats off to Rabiah. I also have found through my experience with her and her orginazation one of the most dearest and strongest friend, and one of the strongest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. May her guidence teach us all....
My first experience volunteering with a rescue organization was with Blue Horse. I discovered so much about them and I can't imagine anyone more devoted or loving of all animals in need, than Rabiah Seminole. She gives the greatest care for them all, without hesitation, even when there are no donations coming in. Calls came in every day I was there with horrible stories of abuse and Rabiah did all she could for each and every one. She would always find a way to get them out of their present situation and some cases were so difficult to imagine, let alone see, as I did, that it was her tireless compassion and intensive care that saved so many. I learned a lot about cruelty but also that there is still hope and people like Rabiah who will never stop fighting for animal protection and showing these victims that there is a better way of life.
