Review for Blue Horse Mukwa Equine Retirement and Rescue Center, Chase City, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was in the area visiting a friend and volunteered with her at Blue Horse. Rabiah and her volunteers put a lot of effort into providing a loving, caring environment for abandoned and abused horses and other animals. Rabiah is all about making Blue Horse there final home and making them as comfortable as possible.

I actually met Rabiah before this when my friend had told me about a dog in my area that had escaped from a person trying to bring it back to Rabiah, after the humans who adopted it left it behind when they moved. She and another volunteer/contributor drove to South Carolina, after several of us had spotted the dog, but could not get him to come to us. Long story short, the dog is now back living with her at Blue Horse and is healthy and happy.

Take a trip to Blue Horse and let Rabiah show you around or go to the website and make a donation, purchase one of her photographs or something from the Tack Shop. All proceeds go to taking care of the critters.

Review for drawchange Inc, Atlanta, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I sponsor a child at the Fatima school in Cartago Costa Rica through Drawchange and was able to travel with the organization there in July 2015. I have seen pictures of the school from the first 5 years of the program and how it gradually blossomed in appearance. This year I was able to witness the change myself and see the pride everyone has in their school. I truly believe that bringing art into the school has empowered everyone, from the students to the staff, and there is now hope for a brighter future. Spending time with my sponsor child was icing on the cake. She loves basketball, as do I, and wants to be a doctor.

Check out Drawchange for volunteer opportunities (in Atlanta or another country) or to sponsor a child. Either will be very rewarding.
