The goal is to provide direct therapeutic and educational services that promote the development of specific skills, maximize choices for families and facilitate the inclusion of children with disabilities in programs with their typically developing peers. Program components include direct therapies, socialization groups and advocacy through the participation in Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and other team meetings. The goal of our Family Support Program is to provide information and resources to the parents and siblings of children with disabilities tha thelp facilitate positive relationships among families and support them in the choices they make. The Belle Center of Chicago is the reason why my 8 year old daughter is continuing to make progress and strides in overcoming many of her challenges. My daughter has a form of CP and Belle Center has worked with her since she was 5 years old. She receives weekly speech and occupational therapy from two of the most talented and devoted therapists I have ever encountered. The Belle Center takes a "whole child" approach in that they involve the school, the community and the family. They encourage inclusion by treating the child within their natural environments, not in a clinical setting. The Belle Center of Chicago is an amazing organization and depends on the generosity of others to give our children the tools they need to succeed.
