Mission: Augustheart's mission is to prevent sudden cardiac death in adolescent students in bexar county and the surrounding south central texas counties by providing free heart screenings to high school students.
Programs: Augustheart screening programs create accessibility to free lifesaving heart screenings for students which may reveal undetected heart abnormalities putting teens at risk for sudden cardiac arrest (sca). An augustheart screening includes an electrocardiogram (ecg) that analyzes the electrical signals of the heart and an echocardiogram (echo) capturing an image of the heart.
