Mission: The mission of the association of professional piercers is to circulate vital health, safety, and educational information for the professional piercing industry.
Programs: The association held its annual u. S. Conference with over 1000 attendees, who attended safety and health seminars and exchanged industry information, as well as assisted through sponsoring and teaching similar education conferences internationally in mexico, germany, united kingdom, and spain.
board members of the association provided a booth at the american public health association's annual convention and the national association of local boards of health, providing educational materials and information about the professional piercing industry, and health and safety standards to a variety of public health workers and educators. They also attended the american college health association's annual conference and provided a booth with the same educational materials and information to hundreds of healthcare personnel involved with college health issues and campus health offices.
the organization provides an online procedural manual for health and safety within the studio, a wide variety of brochures and educational posters to industry members, health inspectors/boards of health, legislators, the press and the general public. They also disseminate general piercing information through the organization's official website "www. Safepiercing. Org". Information is also provided through telephone, email, recorded public service announcements, and letters in response to these same populations.
