Mission: To promote the french language and culture within the community through a variety of courses, social activities, and cultural events.
Programs: Part of a worldwide network, the alliance fran aise teaches 500,000 students per year in 136 countries. The alliance francaise's mission is to promote french language and french speaking cultures. As a member supported non-profit organization, the alliance fran aise d'atlanta is the french-american cultural center serving the atlanta community as the premiere provider of french language and culture since 1912. Since 1963,our language school has been offering a variety of courses for individuals and businesses, including the cdc, care, the carter center and delta air lines. The language school had approximately 880 adults registered in classes in 2016 and offered classes from the beginner level to the most advanced level, such as conversation classes, as well as special workshops on cultural aspects of france or francophone countries. The alliance francaisee also offers on-site corporate classes. We opened a satellite school in roswell to serve our members in the north of atlanta, the official opening ceremony was held on march 31st and classes started in april 2012. We welcomed 204 students our roswell center in 2016. Our students learn french in a friendly, intimate setting, with a class size of 5 to 14 students. Our bilingual and professionally trained instructors focus on building students oral communication skills, while also teaching competency in reading and writing. Since 2007, alliance francaise d'atlanta is on the forefront of language education in the us by implementing the af frames project. Adapted from the internationally recognized common european framework of reference for languages (cefr), af frames means clear learning objectives based on a widely understood 'global scale' at each stage of the learning process. Children's programs:in 2016, the alliance fran aise continued to offer bebe and petite alliance programs for toddlers. These programs are designed to enhance children's natural ability to learn language by providing a structured routine that is both dynamic and interactive. The organization also offers after-school programs during the week, field trips and summer camps for high school students as well as youth program for high school students on saturday afternoon.
alliance francaise offered a wide variety of programs such as art exhibits, an african festival, lectures, book signing, movie nights, monthly dinners, european science cafe series, the european wine tasting festival,and many programs which involved speakers from francophone world or locally to approximately 1200 members in 2016. The alliance francaise was also part of the francophonie festival occurring every year in atlanta which was attended by 400 people. Finally, the organization organized its annual fundraising events, in may called salon de theand our signature fundraising event called bastille day attracting 250 people. We took a group of 13 students to club med sant'ambroggio in corsica.
