I began supporting the Lifecycle Building Center when the organization was just an idea. The early days were a challenge - finding a physical home, creating awareness, fundraising, growing staff, building the brand - that required sacrifice by LBC leadership just to keep the doors open. Over a decade later, it's very exciting to see what the organization has accomplished!
I LOVE ❤️ this place. It truly celebrates amazing people in the community. Everyone who works here is so friendly and welcoming. I never know what I will find. Everything I get from here has taken my house to a home.
This is the little engine that could -- a truly wonderful grassroots organization that yields so many positives out of other peoples trash!
We've kept over 4 million lbs of building materials out of landfills - repurposing them into our community. We provide DIY instructions for the neighborhood and community at large, provide material for free to charities and other non-profits, and utilize workforce programs that allow people to get back on their feet. All while saving & bringing into compliance a very cool & unique building.
In April of 2022 I moved from and to a home in Sandy Springs, GA. The house I was moving out of was being demolished, so I reached out to Lifecycle about a material donation. They audited the materials in my house and I learned there were materials they would take as a material donation. It is always a bit sad to see a home be demolished, so I wanted some of our materials to live on.
The buyer was on board, so we scheduled a material pick up date with Lifecycle staff a couple months in advance to get it on their calendar. Looking back to the donation receipt we donated 25 different items including kitchen, bathroom, and typical wood items. Just like a clothing donation to Goodwill I was able to make a small deduction at tax time, which was an added bonus for the effort. The Lifecycle staff was great to work with and helpful. It gave me the idea to reuse an item at the old house myself in the new house.
I'm so proud to be on the advisory board for this organization. LBC offers a unique service for homeowners and builders alike--great material and refurbished products at excellent prices and training on DIY projects along with advocacy and job readiness training for the community. Watching their team grow over the past 10 years has been inspiring and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to support as a donor and advisor to the staff. One of the organizations with the biggest hearts in Atlanta, and I can't wait to see where we go!
I've been a supporter of LBC since the beginning, 2010 was it?
I have watched not only the organization grow and develop, but also watched the positive impact LBC has had on everything it touches - from homeowners to corporations to government. Yes, we are diverting waste from landfills and saving resources. Most importantly, though, I have seen the opportunities it has provided for the communities it touches, the dedicated staff, the workforce trainees, as well as the many residents it serves. Not to mention the treasures you can find!
I am involved with and support many non-profits and I will say that Lifecycle Building Center is the best managed, best organized and most effective organization I have seen.
As a nonprofit partner of Lifecycle Building Center, we cannot overstate how much we value LBC. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and flexible to our often changing needs. The high quality donated materials have allowed us to expand our impact in creating affordable housing opportunities.
We love Lifecycle!
We wouldn't have such a great start on our new services without Lifecycle! Our Grab N Go Market is now fully functional with expanded outdoor storage to accommodate more families in need of food assistance.
I've supporting lifecycle for over seven years. I purchases a home in the westview area in 2013. It took me 3 years to do totatal rehab. Lifecycle was a valuable source of reclaimed and recycled materials for my project. I was able to find an exact replacement for the fireplace mantel, firebox covers for my 2 fireplaces in my 1920's home. Also breadboard for my front porch a new five burner cook top and all my 8" speedball, Window and door trim and window stool for the entire 2000 sq ft house. I recently found new windows for my mom's renovated front. 18" pavers for my walkway and brand new automatic bidet toilet seats for my 3 bathrooms.
We have been a customer for more than 10 years, lifecycle helped us restore ur kitchen by donating carpet squares. When we started the renovations in certain areas of the church they were the first people we called. And purhchased some items at a great price. We are forever grateful that they are in our neighborhood and we support them. The customer service is excellent! The products they provide both used and new are exceptional. Thanks for all you do for so many in the non-profit arena.
I;ve been a LBC customer for over 5 years. There are many times that I dont find anything but there are some times that I find just what I'm looking for. The staff there has always been helpful and friendly 100% of the time.
Lifecycle Building Center has been huge help in supplying building materials for Wild Nest Bird Rehab in Decatur GA. The LBC staff has always friendly and professional in helping us find the materials for the many projects we've undertaken, such as supplying our kitchen cabinets and countertops (at no charge!), as well as supplying interior doors, and lumber for the outdoor aviary. LBC carries an amazing variety of building and home products, most at drastically discounted prices for the general public, making every trip to the LBC warehouse an adventure.
I highly recommend Lifecycle Building Center to anyone and everyone with a need for building materials and home products. You never know what treasures you'll find there!
LOVE the mission of this place - to reuse building material waste!!! We've purchased several items over the last two years - the biggest being a gorgeous 20-piece cabinet set that was removed from a Brookhaven home and placed into our townhouse in Decatur. The team members at LBC are awesome to work with too - helping you find a way to make a deal work!
I have been a longtime supporter of Lifecyle Building Center both as a customer and donor. Their work has not only tackled the difficult issue of how to handle construction waste, but they are also making headways in a big way for looking deeply into the issue and training others in the deconstruction industry. They have been thoughtfully growing their staff and organization. I'm always looking forward to the next step they are taking as a program providing much needed services to the community and an organization that is tackling the bigger issues of a circular economy.
