Mission: At home away, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience safe and supportive spaces that respect and foster her or his strengths, creativity and abilities. By joining with homeless and formerly homeless families we help build confidence by providing educational, social, and recreational opportunities.
Programs: Beach house - provides homeless children with unique recreational & artistic opportunities. 450 unduplicated children and youth visit annually. Most visit an average of 4 times for a total of 1,800 child visits. The beach house operates monday, wednesday, thursday, saturday and sunday.
school house - provides educational testing, mental health support case management, tutoring, homework assistance and a wide array of educational and enrichment activities to help middle-school youth succeed socially and academically. Serves up to 25 youth annually.
youth leadership - provides academic support groups and skill building workshops to help older teens maintain their academic, social, and emotional gains.
