As a mother, it is hard to fully express the impact the Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida has had on my son Gustavo’s life—and on our entire family. From a very young age, the Foundation supported Gustavo with tutoring scholarships, which allowed him to remain in general education classes and truly believe in his abilities. That belief, combined with their continued support, turned into real achievement—today, Gustavo is graduating with a standard diploma, something we once only dreamed of. For over 10 years, the Foundation has also supported his passion for swimming, helping provide training opportunities that led him to become a member of the USA Down Syndrome National Team. Gustavo has proudly represented the United States in international competitions in France, Thailand, Argentina, and Portugal, and has earned 12 Junior American Records. The Foundation did more than support Gustavo—they believed in him, invested in him, and helped shape his future. We will always be grateful

Camp Millhouse is one of those organizations that reminds you of all the good people in our world. My daughter is a camper who looks forward to summer camp all year long. She aged out of other camps for those with disabilities and was heartbroken. Camp Millhouse works to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities. The leaders and board are so very dedicated and work so hard to manage everything responsibly and successfully. They are patient and loving and FUN! As parents, we are grateful for the opportunities they provide to enrich both our daughter's and our whole family's lives. She gets to be herself there and always comes away with a larger than life smile!

My name is Vince Dominguez, and I am the Senior Manager of Floor Operations at Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, CA. Over the past 10 years, we have had the privilege of working with Tierra through our workplace access programs and art initiatives, and this partnership has been one of the most rewarding aspects of our work.<br><br>From the very beginning, Tierra, under the leadership of Michaela and her team, has been an incredible partner. Their unwavering commitment to championing adults with disabilities has not only enriched our museum but has also taught us invaluable lessons about inclusion, equity, and the power of meaningful employment. We truly love and appreciate our Tierra staff, who have become an integral part of the Kidspace family.<br><br>Our Museum Ambassadors—Karen, Kurt, and Becky—are beloved by the entire Kidspace team. Their dedication, warmth, and hard work make a lasting impact on our staff and guests every day. Getting to know them and their families has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. Their presence at Kidspace is a testament to the fact that individuals of all abilities can contribute meaningfully to their workplaces and communities.<br><br>We are committed to continuing our partnership with Tierra, ensuring that all adults are represented and valued in our workforce. Our museum is better, stronger, and more inclusive because of this collaboration. My daughter and I have attended the last 4 or 5 Buddy Cruises, and it has become, and hopefully will continue to be, the most important annual vacation that we can take. Yes it's a great ship, and we go to cool places, and the food is great, and so on. But what makes this so special is the PEOPLE. My daughter's confidence and self-esteem soar when we board the ship. She suffers from, in addition to her disabilities, acute social anxiety, and while that does not go away completely, on a Buddy Cruise she feels free to be her sparkly self around others. the BC folks pour their hearts (and backs) out to create this magical environment. There are events all day every day that we are free to join or not to join in. The group tables in the Dining Hall offer us quality time to sit and share a fine meal, every nite, with a mix of old and new friends. I cannot say enough how impactful this event is for us every year as it makes us remember that we are not alone as we cruise through our lives; we are part of a huge, vibrant, and loving community!

Beloved and Beyond is an absolute blessing not only to our camper but to our family! I can trust that my child is in good hands, being loved on and accepted just as she is and my husband and I can get some much-needed respite during her time at camp. Camp is what we look forward to all year!

LAMB Foundation of NC, Inc. has allowed me to support interactive learning experiences with my students with speech language disorders. A special education teacher and I collaborated to create a garden with our students. The students loved planting, then watching the vegetables grow. This experience provided an excellent opportunity to target vocabulary, sequencing, social interaction, and following directions.

Without Reece's Rainbow, we wouldn't have found our daughter. I have also been volunteering for them for many years; it's one of the highlights of my life!

Making the Grade: Hope for African Youth has been a beacon of hope in Ethiopia for over a decade. MTG’s unwavering commitment has transformed the lives of countless young people, turning hopeless, family-less children into self-reliant, educated, and independent individuals. MTG’s impact is immeasurable, creating a new generation of empowered youth who now have a future filled with promise. Truly a #LifeChanger.

When my family moved to Spartanburg in 2016, Sonshine Club was the first resource that we heard about for adults with special needs. One word comes to mind when I think of Sonshine Club, Love. My son loves it and I love that he is loved and learning about God’s love while there.<br>Brian, Dawn, Larry, and Tammy, along with so many volunteers devote so much of their time to not only Sonshine Club but also to plan and organize Tim Tebow’s Night To Shine. <br>Sonshine Club is such a blessing to my family, my son, and all of our special friends.

Creative Enterprises incorporated in 1979 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Training and Employment Program for people with disabilities. They serve 375 clients in these counties once they age out of the school system at age 22:<br>Dawson<br>Forsyth<br>Gwinnett<br>White <br>They accomplish this by:<br>+Empowering clients to make their own choices to participate in group learning activities, art, music, to earn a paycheck and to engage in their communities.<br>+Providing work training on-site in our production area or job placement off-site.<br>+Designing each person's goals around their unique abilities; monitoring and adjusting these to effectively challenge them academically and emotionally.<br>+Accepting people for who they are but trying daily to be better<br>+Being respectful to others<br>

Hope Speaks International is positively impacting so many lives across Kampala. They are creating therapeutic opportunities for vulnerable population groups that otherwise would not have access. There are countless individuals that live in slums and cannot afford to pay for therapy services. Hope Speaks is doing everything they can to reach out to those people and give them a chance for a better life. They are also providing top notch mentorship for their therapists on staff. The mentorship program is an additional part of the infrastructure that allows the therapy disciplines to learn and grow together through collaboration and knowledge sharing. This is done in order to empower staff members to feel adequately equipped to face any situation as well as support an atmosphere of continued learning. <br> <br>I cannot say enough about the work they are doing and have seen firsthand the lives that are being affected. There are a lot of stereotypes in UG when it comes to children/people with disability. It's so refreshing to see that Hope speaks is breaking down those barriers and is working to educate families on how to best support people with disabilities. They really are inspiring hope and raising voices in Uganda!

Our son has attended Adam’s Camp for almost 20 years. It is the highlight of his year. He looks forward to camp, and every activity hosted by Adam’s Camp. We believe Adam’s Camp is the best disabilities camp out there. The Staff and Camp Counselors are kind, caring, and engaging. We are thrilled with his personal growth every year at camp. It provides him and the family with the most quality respite time possible. We are most grateful to Adam’s Camp for providing an excellent summer camp and activities throughout the year. Thank you for all you do. I would highly recommend Adam’s Camp to anyone seeking the perfect place for your family member.

I have a son with Down syndrome, and, for years, have been involved with the DSAM of Memphis in one way or another, from simply being a parent in need of advice or services, to volunteering, and working as a photographer for their many events. The Down Syndrome Association has a host of outings to promote networking opportunities for families, socialization for kids and adults alike, and to provide much needed information about matters such as financial, medical and educational paths appropriate for our children with DS. My son is now highly involved, attends self-advocacy classes that are offered every Monday, adult reading classes on Wednesdays, and most recently started working as an intern at the office where he can use his abilities in a large way. In my experience, I have seen many families in need that have been helped with newborn concerns, school issues, and adult matters that would otherwise not have a place to reach out to. For us, this organization has been a blessing.

I cannot express with words for the gratitude I have for this great organization. My son has autism he needs a lot of help with speech he gets very frustrated due to his communication. The entire team at ACT4ME are so helpful and want to make a difference in the community. They absolutely jumped in and helped me with much needed services of speech for my son. He is 4 and has come along way. I am so eternally grateful for these amazing ladies who are my sons guardian angels. I thank you for the much needed help and support that you provide us. I hope that people can find this organization for support and trust because they are amazing. I also hope that people help the cause that they do because it is hard to find help for therapy and support that parents are desperately looking for , for their children. Thank you!!

Down Home Ranch is a special place that draws you in with open arms. The staff treats everyone with kindness, and time spent with Ranchers is always well spent! There are tons of opportunities to volunteer here, as well as a gift shop and greenhouses that are open year-round to sell plants and handmade items. This place has made such a difference in my life, and opened my heart to so many friendships.

I have worked at Opengate for almost ten years and have always been impressed with the organization's dedication to the individuals we serve.

My son Damien, 28, really benefitted from the friendships of the Sheperds Lodge and the facilitated equine therapy and community events coordinated by Ann and the group.

Our disabled son has no brothers or sisters and although we have made arrangements for his care when we are unavailable, my wife and I are able to rest easier knowing a competent and caring advocate will be available to make sure our son is receiving needed care and support.

My family first discovered GiGi’s Playhouse on World Down Syndrome Day 2016 when Ted was only 6 weeks old after an unexpected diagnosis at his birth and we immediately felt like it was a home away from home. As a baby, Ted joined programs like LMNOP and has grown up with GiGi's continuing to participate in everything from Little Sports to tutoring, all free of charge! We have found lifelong friendships, support, and so many resources and tools to help Ted reach his full potential. GiGi's Playhouse means so much to us that in 2018 when we took the most amazing summer trip and fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting all 30 MLB stadiums, we turned the trip into an Down syndrome awareness campaign benefiting our local Playhouse. Over the last 7 years, we have participated in programs, volunteered and fundraised, but I am most excited about our future with the Playhouse. I was recently hired on as the 4th employee and cannot wait to see the impact the Playhouse has on individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community at large. From birth to career readiness, the support GiGi's Playhouse offers is unmatched in the Ds community, maybe in any community.

I love Gigis so much. I am so appreciative that we have a location so close. I’m blessed that our family will be able to experience this facility through adulthood. We have had the opportunity to visit and participate in many programs. The staff and volunteers are awesome. The dedication to the Ds community is outstanding.

15 years ago, I had no idea what Storm would mean to me. These families are my own. I have watched so many players through the years grow, succeed, gain valuable life skills, just by learning and playing hockey. We’ve been blessed with amazing coaches and helpers, all committed to changing the life of each and every child who has come through our program. Proud of this program doesn’t begin to describe the success we’ve witnessed. We are all honored to be a part of it.

My 4 year old son and I have been attending the free music class through DSOSN for a few months now. It is so much fun! Miss Emily is patient and gives my son the repetition and time he needs to copy her movements.
