Camp Millhouse is one of those organizations that reminds you of all the good people in our world. My daughter is a camper who looks forward to summer camp all year long. She aged out of other camps for those with disabilities and was heartbroken. Camp Millhouse works to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities. The leaders and board are so very dedicated and work so hard to manage everything responsibly and successfully. They are patient and loving and FUN! As parents, we are grateful for the opportunities they provide to enrich both our daughter's and our whole family's lives. She gets to be herself there and always comes away with a larger than life smile!

I have been involved with Camp Millhouse since 2017 as a board member. I was inspired by the uniqueness of the opportunities provided by Camp Millhouse. It has a rich and fascinating history. Moreover, it is a pillar in our community. The camp is run by genuine, caring people, and it is completely devoted to utilizing resources to benefit its constituents. I have been involved in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 40 years in multiple contexts, and Camp Millhouse stands out as the kind of experience that I would want to send one of my family members to, where I would want to volunteer my time, and where I would want to support financially. No dollars donated are wasted, and all go to a tremendous cause.

I served as the volunteer attorney for Camp Millhouse for almost 20 years. During that time I got to see the hard work and commitment of the Board, staff, counselors, and volunteers to make Camp Millhouse the special place that it is. Although Joanne (my Wife) and I retired and moved from the area in 2015, we both have fond memories of our involvement with Camp Millhouse and continue to be supporters of Camp Millhouse and its mission.

Camp Millhouse is a magical experience for the campers and their caregivers/families. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful resource in our community. Many campers have never experienced time away from their families before they arrive at camp. To see the campers blossom, develop lifelong friendships, interact with peers and do things that they have only seen on tv is priceless.

Camp Millhouse is an amazing place to be! Our son has been attending Camp Millhouse for many years and it has truly been a blessing for all of us. We started out as day camp because we weren't sure how he would adjust to being away from us. I would drive him to camp and pick him up at the end of the camp activities each day. We found out very quickly that he LOVED it at camp. So, the next year and every year since he has enjoyed spending the night at camp. Tanner looks forward to the next year as soon as we pick him up on the last day of camp each summer. While at camp he is treated as a person with special abilities...not as a person with disabilities. His favorite activity is swimming and he loves all of his counselors. Diana and Melissa are two of his favorite people. He can't leave camp without giving his high to all of his people at camp. We are truly blessed to have found Camp Millhous so many years ago. It is his happy place each summer. Thank you Camp Millhouse for all you do to make our son feel at home while away from home!

When you visit Camp Millhouse, you can immediately sense happiness from the campers. It is readily apparent that they feel comfortable and secure at a place that is designed for the campers to be themselves. We receive the same story from family members over and over - they are thrilled that the camper is having such a great time with their peers and relieved that they finally feel comfortable taking a break for a few days. I can't imagine someone visiting camp and not being overwhelmed with the sense that the world needs more places like it. Do yourself a favor and learn more about Camp Millhouse today!

The experience Camp Millhouse provides to campers is nothing short of mesmorizing! My daughter with Down Syndrome has attended since she was 12, she is now 22 and still looks forward to her week of camp every year!. She has made some amazing friends with not only campers but also the staff! She knows them all by name and they are life long friends! The compassion that the team operates under with every single camper is unwaivering! The attention to details to ensure each camper is safe, connecting, laughing, engaging and not wanting to leave to go home at the end of each week of camp is so fun to watch! The executive team is always looking for ways to continue to improve the camp experience. The new lodge is just simply amazing and such a great addition to the camp. My daughter is also a type I Diabetic and I don't worry at all about her safety at camp because the team is fully engaged and loving on every single camper all week long!! She can go and just be a "kid"! If you've never visited the camp, come on out - you will be very impressed with the love and joy you find being poored out at Camp Millhouse! It's a once in a lifetime experience that will keep you and your camper wanting to come back year after year! It really is like having family at camp!!

This Camp is magical! Camp Millhouse radiates with independence, joy and forever friends. The entire operation is fully engaged from Executive Staff, counselors, kitchen staff, nurses to campers. Everyone is encouraged to be true to themselves, independent, and treat each other with respect. The staff plan interactive activities, like arts and crafts, sports (including a fully accessible pool and low ropes course), singing by the campfire, and even wheelchair art! Take the time to explore the website, ask questions, and join us for a visit. I promise you will feel the "camp magic" too!
