We joined the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada 14 years ago. The organization has given our daughter the opportunity to increase much needed life skills, participate in therapy programs, make new friends, increase social skills and given her the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteerism. For us as parents DSOSN has been a conduit for resources, support groups and an opportunity to help in creating the opportunities needed for our children.Recently DSOSN has partnered with the Collaboration Center Foundation. This partnership has opened the doors to multiple resources for the special needs community all under one roof. This partnership not only helps to increase the resources available to our kids but also gives parents and care givers a support network and resource that has never been available in Southern Nevada until now.

My 4 year old son and I have been attending the free music class through DSOSN for a few months now. It is so much fun! Miss Emily is patient and gives my son the repetition and time he needs to copy her movements.

Our family has taken advantage of the American Sign Language program that is offered. What we have learned has enabled us to have better communication with our daughter that has Down syndrome.

When my brother in law moved to Las Vegas three years ago he had no friends with whom to associate. We were directed to DSOSN(Down Syndrome of Southern Nevada) by a friend. After becoming members , we were able to take advantage of the many programs they offered. From music therapy to to the social interaction in Club21, he has been able to become more comfortable in his new surroundings.
