We run a nonprofit, Susie Q's Kids, and provide comfort bags to kids experiencing need, trauma, and grief.
We were introduced to Michael's Place through our collaboration with Phi Theta Kappa. During their recent conference, they created comfort bags and distributed them to Michael's Place and Kalamazoo's Gospel Ministries for their families experiencing homelessness.
We thank Michigan Region Leader Tuesday Dixon for helping us spread our reach and impact along with the servant leaders who are building a better tomorrow.
Just imagine a grieving child in a world full of change, hugging a panda bear, wrapped in the warmth of a blanket, and playing with some activity items. It might make their world a little easier.

Kristy understands the need for kids to have the opportunity to be kids, to have fun, to meet others, and to learn new things. Sandcastles Grief program sets the stage for kids to learn "It's OK not to be OK", that our feelings are normal, that we all have feelings of loss and may show our feelings differently, and it's OK to talk about your feelings. They are making the situation normal and teaching kids how to deal with their feelings positively. Keep up the good work. Shel Jones has created a safe and healthy environment for autistic kids to excel and their parents to obtain some respite care. She understands the needs of these children and strives to offer them an experience of fun, learning, and comfort. Jasmynn's Voice is truly inspirational. Mom Melissa Archer started her n9onprofit to help other autistic children have a chance to communicate better. Her daughter Jasmynn is her inspiration, They donate iPad to autistic children in need, thus setting the stage for them to communicate and learn at their pace.

I have collaborated with President Cynthia Greening on numerous projects and love the enthusiasm in which leads the group and the members embrace the need of the community. Big Family of Michigan is committed to helping the families serving our foster youth. They offer clothing and needs to help the kids acclimate to their new surroundings and maintain their needs while in the foster care program. I recently toured Gianna's House and met some of the ladies in residence. What a great program offering them help when needed to future themselves and their babies. This program sets these ladies up for success. Susie Q's Kids was happy to provide much-needed items for them and others in the community during their Community Baby Shower. Keep up the good work.

Founder Sarah Deramo is committed to helping kids. Her commitment to offering these children a chance to interact, have fun, and flourish in a safe environment is commendable. All kids deserve to have opportunities, I applaud Sara for presenting these kids with fun, laughter, teamwork, hope, and a path to success. Susie Q's Kids recently dropped off art supplies to compliment their summer camp program, keep up the good work.

We had the opportunity to tour the facilities with Mark Cunningham and met the Pastor and his wife, and their amazing team members. We engaged with the participants and provided Susie Q's Kids comfort bags to the children in the program, we were enriched by their commitment to hope and healing, and we applaud them and the positive environment and culture where they can succeed on their personal journeys.

This organization engages with the community finding ways to make a difference in the lives of those they assist. They serve those that are blind and sight challenged, deaf and hard of hearing, kids with cancer, kids with diabetes, and kids against hunger, all kids deserve to go to camp and deserve a measure of comfort.
