Review for Wounded Warriors Family Support, Omaha, NE, USA

Rating: 5 stars

WWFS is an AMAZING organization! I was referred to them by a fellow wounded warrior caregiver as I was recovering from a stem cell transplant for cancer. They paid to have our home cleaned before I was discharged as I was severely immunocompromised. Then, they continued to pay for cleaning services until I was strong enough to do it myself. Not only that, but they called every week to check on me & make sure we didn't need anything! We also received a special grant that Christmas which helped offset the financial hardship of me being unable to work during my cancer battle. That was 5 & 1/2 years ago. I'm cancer-free and able to take care of my wounded warrior again, yet I STILL hear from my WWFS 'family' regularly. They call to make sure I'm okay & don't need any help. Mostly, we catch up on the latest news & talk about our families - the struggles we're facing & the victories we've won. Most Wounded Warrior nonprofits focus mainly on the wounded soldier, but WWFS truly cares for and helps the caretaker and family. That kind of support is rare, priceless, & appreciated more than words can express. WWFS cares for me so I can care for my wounded warrior! WWFS ROCKS!!!!❤️

Review for FISHER HOUSE INC, San Antonio, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This amazing organization was a true God-send when my husband, SFC (ret) Alan Hornaday, was very seriously injured by a suicide car bomber in Baghdad, Iraq during his deployment in support of OIF. We don't have the words to express our gratitude to the Fisher House Organization for giving us a place to stay (as well as provisions & resources!) during my husband's 22 month recovery at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio. FH not only gave us a 'home away from home,' but we made lifelong friendships with other wounded soldiers and their families who were there to recover, as well. Inge, Russ, all the wonderful volunteers, & our fellow FH residents will forever be our Fisher House family!!!

Review for Operation Finally Home, New Braunfels, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My husband, SFC (ret) Alan Hornaday & I don't have the words to express our gratitude to this AMAZING organization! We have watched OFH grow from a local group of builders providing mortgage-free homes to Wounded Warriors in TX, to an organization that is blessing wounded soldiers & their families all across the Nation! There are no better people than the founders & leaders of OFH! They are God-filled & God-led, & pass God's love to each & every soldier/family they touch! May they each be blessed beyond abundantly, just as they have blessed us!!

Review for Wounded Warriors Family Support, Omaha, NE, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We have been blessed to receive services/assistance from a number of Wounded Warrior organizations since my husband, SFC (Ret) Alan Hornaday was very seriously injured in a suicide car bomber attack during his deployment in support of OIF in May 2004, but WWFS has been one of the most gracious & accessible groups we've worked with! Not only have they helped us financially, they've also been very supportive emotionally by reaching out on a regular basis to make sure all is well & we don't have any needs. Specifically, Wendy Tatro-Walker has been our earth-angel & we are SO very thankful & appreciative of her & this wonderful organization!! May God bless her & her fellow angels as much as they have blessed us!!
