The humane society provides medical care, enrichment, playgroups, good nutrition and love to the animals in their care. They have saved so many lives of dogs and cats. These animals wouldn’t be alive today, if it were not for the HSNEGA. They are always trying to improve and help the community. Volunteering here is so rewarding. The staff and volunteers share the love and compassion for the homeless animals. They have opportunities for the public to get low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter and much more. We have an incredible Volunteer Program. These animals lives MATTER to all who work or volunteer here. Five stars for sure!!

I have volunteered as a foster for The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia for over 7 years. They make it easy to foster. They know what supplies to give you and they are always on call to answer questions and give you the confidence you need to help your fosters.

I began volunteering at HSNEGA in August. I was very emotional, and wasn't sure I could handle it. But, apparently many volunteers experience this and everyone has been so welcoming and teaching me what I need to know. I love every dog at the shelter and many of these dogs get better treatment than dogs in a home. Playgroups, Socialization, and most of all LOVE! When I started, all I could offer was love, but I have learned so much from staff and other volunteers. My husband and I have begun sleepovers for the dogs and while its difficult to take them back it helps them decompress so much, and learn how to be in a home. If you can I highly suggest opening your home a couple of nights for these precious dogs. They are so deserving of the best, loving home!!

I have been a volunteer dog walker for 1 1/2 years and it has been SO much fun. Learning about dogs from other volunteers and the staff. Becoming more and more confident. Seeing dogs that were traumatized learn to trust, love, play, cuddle, and act like dogs again! Our group of volunteers is amazing in their dedication to and love for our pups. I cannot imagine a better place to help out.

I adopted my fur baby Sky from here. She has been the greatest addition to our family. The volunteers have taught her various manners and made her the most social dog I have ever met. The shelter is very well maintained and clean. They work hard to ensure the animals are happy and healthy as possible.

we have adopted kittens/dogs over the years. We loved JULIE who was first director. Now it is the 2nd chance. We bought tix to art weekend but I am disabled so can't go. I want to see the auction items so how do I do that? Our present dog is a yellow lab mix, quinn, 76 pounds a couple days ago and 16 mo. old. Loves my husband and been to 2 manners classes. This is my second time adopting, but my first time adopting from HSNEGA. I saw our baby on the HSNEGA Facebook page and convinced my husband to go see him. We fell in love and now we have our pup! Everyone was so sweet!!

When we came to the humane society I have been grieving a lost pet for several weeks. We came to the clear the shelter event in March and I was hoping to make a connection. We ended up adopting Andy Dwyer now Moonie and he has helped me heal my broken heart. The event was very organized in the staff was very friendly and informative.

Love this place! Our sweet baby rescued us on Nov 26, 2019. Easiest process to adopt. Also use the wellness clinic for our vaccines! Wonderful people and organization!!

We adopted Moxie on April 5 2018. I have never had a better experience with adopting a dog. They had taken great care of her.They took their time and helped pick out the right dog for me. She is the joy of my life. We drove from Snellville the Gainesville to get her and I am so glad.

This is the best shelter experience, bar none. Friendly staff and they care about all the dogs and will tell you all about the ones you're interested in. If you're thinking about adopting, this is the best place to do it at.

I have 4 rescues from HSNEGA and 2 of them are habersham puppy mill rescues. The staff at HSNEGA are the best and love the animals and go the extra mile on all there rescues. Highly recommend HSNEGA as the place to adopt your next pet..

I adopted my first dog, Snow, from HSNEGA back in June 2016. She was from a large puppy mill bust, and HSNEGA made sure I understood what extra steps I might need to do for her as far as care to make her the most comfortable and to help her adjust to her new life.
I loved that they strived to keep the facilities clean, even in the areas where the animals stayed. I have found that that is rare in humane societies elsewhere. I also loved that it was obvious their main priority was the animals and their wellbeing. The staff here truly have a deep love for animals and providing the best care and forever homes possible.

We got 3 of our animals from the Humane Society. The first one was "The little Orphaned" now Cali, Spartacus and our latest addition last May Hazelnut. Staff is caring and helpful. The Humane Society of Hall County is my favorite charity. I know the money is going to the right place.

In the process of adopting a mischevious pup that we had met through it's foster family, it was obvious that HSNEGA is a labor of love for its staff and volunteers. I appreciate their conscientious effort on behalf of our community and all of the animals they serve!

We took my dog Bella here to get her spayed and they were absolutely wonderful. The team that operated on Bella gave us clear instructions for when we took her home that I appreciated. Bella is also a very shy dog and when she came out she seemed less shy then when she went in. They did mention that to us, and we have taken their suggestion and been socializing her more. She is still not fond of people, but she is better. I am so thankful for HSNEGA for what they have fine for me and my puppy.

I’ve been volunteering at the humane society of northeast Georgia since 2016 and it’s my favorite place! The volunteers are dedicated and the staff make it an awesome place to give back to the community and animals. The mission is at the heart of everything done by the staff, board members, and volunteers. Little by little, the team works to make it the best animal shelter for the animals and for the community.

I moved to the Hall County area in 2017 and was looking for a way to connect in the community and help animals. I started volunteering my time 1-2 days a week which ramped up to 3-5 days a week very quickly. I am proud to be a part of the team of regular volunteers who walk the dogs (rain or shine) and love on puppies and kitties while they wait for their forever homes. The staff works diligently to care for and place animals into good homes. I can't take them all home, but I can love them while they are at the shelter during their transition time to a new home.

Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is the BEST! Julie Edwards does a great job directing all activities and helping all the little fur babies find their forever home. And that makes for a happier community!

I have not adopted from here but got involved with them through Miss Ga Northlands. I am so excited about all the LOVE and CARE they give these deserving furbabies!!! ALL the PEPOLE there go out of their way to help. It's ALL nonprofit too!

Great organization. They do great things for all the animals in their care. They see some sad things in this line of work...but they keep going...helping those who have no voice....Big Hearts to do what they do.

The HSNEGA team is exceptional! They go above and beyond for all animals in need in the Gainesville area and surrounding counties. Their level of compassion and professionalism has far exceeded my expectations. It's been an absolute pleasure working with Julie and her team. We're lucky to have such a fine organization in our community!!

Julie Edward's team really has this place humming and their care reaches well beyond Hall County. As just one example, their efforts with a recent rescue of dozens of abused dogs from a neighboring county was truly heroic! Kudos to Julie, Dr. Feroli and the rest of the HSNEGA team!

The attential to detail and care of these animals surpasses any other facilityblike it. The dogs are loved and cared for, great medical staff and a Spa environment for a calming change. Aromatherapy is used in the kennels!!

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia has been a lifesaver for us at Logan's Run Rescue. When we get "dumped" with dozens of puppies HSNEGA works with us to take them and find homes for them. Their staff is always very efficient, friendly and works hard to make things happen. Special kudos to Julie Edwards who reaches out to everyone and as many animals as she can.

I have volunteered at this shelter with my daughter for over 5 years. They are simply amazing. I have adopted from them and use their Wellness Clinic for my pets. I encourage my friends to find their new family members at this shelter. The staff and volunteers treat the animals with loving care and go above and beyond to make sure that all animals have daily walks, playtime, and socialization along with basic obedience training. It is a wonderful place for me and my daughter to give back to the community by spending our weekend hours with animals that are looking for attention and a friend to play with them. Everyone there is truly a Lifesaver!

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is wonderful! They are on the front lines of serving our community through education and outreach with animal welfare. I started as a volunteer with this organization 14 years ago. Since then I have become a donor, and have adopted two furry family members from here. Now, I am delighted to be serving as a board member. I highly recommend this organization to anyone that is looking to adopt, volunteer, or donate to an organization committed to the humane care of animals.

I adopted both my dogs from the Humane Society Of NE Ga. I have watched the growth at HSNEGA over the past 9 years and have been so impressed and touched by the good work and dedication of the current director and her staff! They work tirelessly to help the animals in our county and go out of their way in offering their help wherever the need calls from. Thank you, Julie, and everyone at HSNEGA for your love and caring!

I am a volunteer for the Humane Society of Northeast GA so I see what goes on behind the scenes. These folks truly love and care for the Animals. The placement process (to make sure dogs and cats go to a proper environment and loving home) is thorough. If animals need extra attention (really sick or traumatized) they are placed in foster homes until they are well enough to be adopted out. I’ll continue to donate my time and money to this place.

Such a fantastic organization! I have volunteered at HSNEGA's adoption angel lock-in for 2 years & it is awesome to see the love they have for the furry friends in their care. They go above & beyond to make sure everyone is safe & shown lots of love. They work diligently to find caring adoptive homes for everyone. Their community outreach is inspiring. From their adoption efforts to their spay & neuter program, low cost wellness clinic, training classes & educational programs - this is an amazing & dedicated group!

Although I have not personally adopted from this shelter, I do follow their efforts. Julie & her staff do an amazing job of spreading community awareness for animal welfare. The Northeast GA Humane Society is a huge asset to Gainesville and the surrounding areas, and the staff and volunteers demonstrate an unyielding passion for the animals in their care.

This past year I volunteered as an angel lock in to a very sweet older dog that was also an returned adoption. The staff made sure to give me her history so I could share it with all those coming to see the dogs. Not only did this help me make my donation goal it really made me want to help her find her home. The staff are amazing and you can see how much they care about all the animals they care for. I'm happy to say sweet Ellie found her forever home.

I have been a volunteer with this humane society for 2 years. I had always wanted to do more to help save the lives of animals and giving my time here after retirement seemed to be the best way to do that. I have adopted 2 dogs from HSNEGA since I've been volunteering. I've met and volunteered alongside some super people here. It has been a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

I started as a volunteer with HSNEGA after a school field trip with my daughter a year ago. I was very impressed with the facility and the compassion the staff showed for the animals. I have also adopted 2 dogs after the passing of my 14 year old lab. It is truly a great place to volunteer and also the perfect place to find your next dog or cat.

As a longtime resident of Gainesville, I often heard about the quality of the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia and even knew some people who were associated with it in the past. But it wasn't until I adopted a dog of my own that I came to recognize what an exemplary organization it is. The process of adopting Emma was simple yet thorough and I was highly impressed with the facility's cleanliness and the care that was evident from the volunteers and their rapport with the animals. I fell in love with my dog and the Humane Society.

Since then I have donated to several of its fundraisers and causes and have occasionally helped out walking dogs on holidays. I enjoy stopping in to say hello to the staff and spend a few minutes with the animals. HSNEGA is a rare and exceptional organization and its director and staff are dedicated individuals whose compassion and commitment go far beyond the ordinary---make that far beyond the extraordinary. I have seen them save animals I would have thought were beyond hope. And each and every animal that is taken in is shown respect and consideration, affection and understanding. I can't praise HSNEGA high enough.

Vounteered for over a year, then I adopted a Llsa Apso female dog from the Humane Society in January, 2015. Best dog ever. In 2016, we fostered a small puppy that had been dropped and her back was broken. No use of her back legs. We had her for five months, then in December,2016, she was adopted. In May, 2017, she was returned to HSNEGA. We fostered her for 4+ months, then made the decision to adopt her. She has been the joy in our life. The Humane Society had gotten a cart for her and we were able to keep it when we adopted. The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia has made a tremendous contribution to making our lives wonderful in our retirement years.

I started volunteering with HSNEGA in May 2017. I adopted a cat four years ago from this organization, and I recently adopted two dogs which HSNEGA had taken in from the Habersham Puppy Mill Rescue. The compassion that the staff and volunteers show to all of the rescues is a testimony of why this organization if one of the best! I have had the priviIege of donating to fundraisers, and I am currently training to be an adoption counselor. Being allowed to share my time with the dogs and cats is an added joy to my days. I have had nothing but good experiences with this organization. HSNEGA loves their animals and strives to give the best care to their rescues and to find the best suited homes for each animal. I highly recommend HSNEGA to anyone who loves animals and want to volunteer to make a difference. Anyone looking for a special "furry" addition to their family should consider HSNEGA as their first choice in selecting that new family member!

I have volunteered with the Humane Society of Northeast Ga since 2012, and I look forward every Saturday to coming and walking the dogs. I have seen many changes for the better over the years and love working with the outstanding staff and my fellow volunteers to make the lives of the animals in residence the best it can be until they find their forever homes. I have also adopted four times from here and occasionally foster dogs. One of the most memorable experiences was helping to socialize dogs from the recent Habersham puppy mill rescue, and eventually adopting one of these wonderful dogs myself. I feel like I am part of a life saving family, as everyone there works hard to fulfill the mission to save animals, provide low cost spay/neuter and wellness services to the community, and a number of other community services and education. I have worked with this organization since June of this year as a volunteer. This organization has the best interest of these fur babies at heart. They are cared for in the most lovable way. I have also had my own fur babies cared first here as far as their immunization here which was a very easy task, in and out in a very short time. If you are looking for a pet please consider the Humane Society of Hall County, you want regret it.
