Review for African Childrens Haven, Galveston, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have worked with and donated to African Childrens Haven for more than a decade. The organization has consistently supported vulnerable children, particularly girls, through programs that produce lasting results. Over the years they have provided lunch programs to schools so children could be nourished and able to learn. They have supported girls who wish to focus on science through scholarships. ACH has provided safe haven for girls facing early marriage and unwanted circumcision, paid teachers' salaries, and so much more. When schools supported by ACH were shut down during the worst months of the COVID 19 pandemic, ACH provided food for the students and their families. African Childrens Haven monitors and evaluates the results of their funding, ensuring that donor support is well spent. Now more than ever, children living in Kenya and Tanzania need continued support from African Childrens Haven and its donors. I can't praise this organization more highly.

Review for Trees for the Future, Inc., Silver Spring, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have watched and supported the good work of Trees for the Future for a a decade or more. The organization is making an incredible difference in the lives of people living on the African continent and elsewhere. Using trees that enrich soils, provide incomes and help the planet. Trees works with small farmers--a bottom up approach--who share techniques within their communities and create a larger impact. In this time of climate change, which will greatly affect countries where Trees works, there is no more important cause to support.

Review for EcoAgriculture Partners, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a donor, board member and adviser to this amazing organization since its inception more than 10 years ago. Its research-based, grassroots approach to finding solutions to feeding the planet while conserving wild biodiversity, insuring livelihoods for small farmers, and others has been an idea ahead of its time. As the consequences of climate change loom large and grow, we need an groups like EcoAgriculture Partners that are already finding sustainable solutions that will make a positive difference in the lives of millions in years to come.

Review for H2O for Life, White Bear Lake, MN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have worked with H2O for Life for many years. I am so impressed with their commitment to bringing clean water and sanitation to schools in Africa. This partnership means that African students have clean water and latrines. This is especially important to ensure that girls go to school and stay in school. and learn about hygiene. And to do this their approach of involving schools in the U.S. as partners. It's a win, win! Terrific organization!

Review for Maasai Girls Education Fund, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am proud to have worked with Maasai Girls Education Fund for more than ten years and to be a sponsor of a Maasai student. What this small, effective organization has been able to do for Maasai girls and young women in Kenya is close to miraculous. Not only does the organization find and stick by girls in need of an education, often helping them escape early marriage and a life of poverty, it also works to educate all members of the Maasai community about why it is important to educate girls. Young women go on to higher education and eventually jobs, which, more often than not, involve giving back to their own communities. I could not recommend this organization more.

Review for African Childrens Haven, Galveston, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I continue to be impressed with the work of African Childrens Haven in Africa. With a heavy focus on supporting young children in school, girls in high school, lunch programs for students, sex education for adolescents, and more, this organization is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of extremely poor children. The organization's leadership includes individuals who have decades of experience on the ground in Sub Saharan Africa. They have implemented a system that provides oversight of their programs to ensure they are effective and to modify them when necessary. ACH keeps administrative expenses to a minimum without jeopardizing results. Overall, a wonderful organization to support!

Review for African Childrens Haven, Galveston, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have known African Childrens Haven and its work since its inception. I was fortunate to be able to visit one of the schools it supports in Kenya and was amazed by the commitment of its staff members to the students and the joy and love they projected in their work. The children were learning, receiving nourishing meals, and very happy. African Childrens Haven is extremely good at choosing the local groups it supports and therefore ensuring that children truly benefit. I also have been impressed with the organization's commitment to helping African high school girls interested in the sciences go to school. African Childrens Haven's support of poor kids, primarily through education, is changing lives and creating better futures.
