GREY2K USA Worldwide is a success because they focus on one thing...the protection of the racing greyhound. Just last year, GREY2K USA was able to ban dog racing in Arizona.
As a board member, I have witnessed the dedication and drive of Carey Theil, Executive Director, and Christine Dorchak, President, and General Counsel...they work nonstop full speed ahead. Let me tell you a little bit about them.
First Carey. Every year, you will see Carey in Tallahassee getting to know legislators and winning them over with facts about the cruelty of the dog racing industry.Legislators in Florida term out but Carey always finds new supporters from both sides of the aisle. Then there is the media. Carey has so many contacts from reporters to TV stations which help him get our message out. For example, just several weeks ago The New York Times published an article about cocaine being found in 5 greyhounds following Florida Races.
Now Christine. Boy, does she know the para-mutual law? She works with governors and legislators to help get these laws on the books. I know that many times she is at the GREY2K USA office working on Saturday or Sunday trying to beat a deadline and she does.
I am proud to be a member of GREY2K USA and I will continue to help Carey and Christine with their efforts to end dog racing.
Kathy, you are the heart and soul of this effort. We want to thank you right back for all you do to help raise awareness about the cruelty of dog racing and promote the adoption of ex-racers! Christine Dorchak, Esq. President, GREY2K USA Worldwide

I live is South Florida and I regularly conduct greyhound presentations at schools in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. I talk to the children about dog racing and the need for adoption of these beautiful and gentle dogs.
The GREY2K USA Education Fund provides me with the necessary material to conduct these classes. For example, brochures, coloring books, wristbands, and buttons. These classes are a success and the children love them.
Thank you GREY2K USA Education Fund for making this possible.
Kathy, thank you so much for being such a big part of our ongoing "Greyhounds in the Classroom" program! You work so hard! Christine Dorchak, Esq. President, GREY2K USA Education Fund

I have been a board member of GREY2K USA for several years. During this time, I have seen the level of commitment GREY2K USA has to end dog racing here in the U.S. and worldwide. Since they have only one goal, they can stay focused on achieving it and to help them achieve it, they have a very knowledgeable and dedicated staff.
One of the reasons I decided to join GREY2K USA is because they work legislatively to ban dog racing and they have accomplished this in many states, most recently, Arizona.
I encourage everyone to go to GREY2KUSA.org and see what has been accomplished to help the racing greyhounds.

Because of the Grey2K USA Education Fund, I have supplies which I use to help educate school age children in South Florida about the need to adopt the racing greyhounds when their racing life is over. I give the children a "Pele's Forever Home" book which is a sweet story about an ex-racer finding his forever home. The distribution of these books has resulted in the adoption of many greyhounds.
Thank you GREY2K USA Education Fund for making this possible.

I’m the Florida Director for GREY2K USA. Over the years while tabling and organizing rallies in front of the 12 tracks in Florida, I have come in contact with many people who have experienced behind the scenes activities that are part of the racing industry. For example, one vet tech wrote to me prior to a rally, “Hi! My name is ----- , and I am coming to that protest come hell or high water! It’s funny, I JUST posted something on my Facebook about how horrible racing is. See, I am a vet tech at a local animal hospital where we work with the track dogs (all the different kennels). We bath, vaccinate, do blood work & dentals, sterilize and repair broken legs on the greyhounds that are blessed enough to have a chance at a real life. We have to put soooo many beautiful, sweet greyhounds to sleep for nothing more than broken hocks that the kennel owners don't feel that it's worthwhile enough to pay for fixing. And then the tragic ones that come in right off the track terribly suffering from heatstroke that we euthanize- These things just shouldn't happen! I can't stand to look another beautiful greyhound in the eyes as it licks my face as we're injecting the euthanasia solution into its vein. All over a snapped hock that no one would pay to have repaired. Let's start by telling everyone what a tragedy racing is!!!”
At this time, we do not know how many of the racing greyhounds are suffering injuries in Florida since Florida is one of two states out of the seven racing states that does not have injury reporting. I will proudly work with GREY2K USA to get injury reporting on the books in Florida. GREY2K USA is a well-run organization dedicated to the protection of the racing greyhounds worldwide.
