As a new founder, I wanted to build a business whose core values included helping women, but that's not as easy as it sounds. Doing something real, not just for PR or for a certification is difficult to execute while managing a young business with little funds and time spread around. Working for Women gave me a much earlier entry point then I ever thought possible by valuing skills as contributions. I am so proud that even thought my business is young - we are from the beginning able to help nonprofits that are helping women and as we grow, we are growing and learning ways to be more effective and successful together. Excellent idea and organization!

When I first met Working for Women founder Beth Bengston, I knew I wanted to be part of her team. Her passion to help under-served women get into the workforce and become economically independent by tapping the business community makes perfect sense. It's a unique approach that fills an important gap in the giving arena. By focusing on women who need a point of entry -- by working through existing organizations to deliver tangible skills and resources, we can build a future that is equitable, productive and prosperous for all. There's a need, there's room to achieve this, and there's now an organization helping businesses see their way forward to this purpose. The evidence in just the early years of Working for Women speaks to its potential. As a working Board Member, my time is well spent here. Everyone involved wins - and I mean everyone.

As a corporate group, finding opportunities to make a meaningful impact on our communities and work with non-profit organizations can be challenging. We often reach out to non-profit organizations that would love support, but don’t have a clear way for us to get involved. Partnering with W4W has helped solve many of these challenges.

W4W finds meaningful ways to connect us with the non-profits, prioritizing creating value that is unique and mutually beneficial for both the non-profit and ZSers. By working with W4W, NY Office’s ZS Cares team has been able to engage a wider group of ZSers, create ongoing relationships with the organizations we are working with, mix in more skill-based volunteering/pro bono work with the service work we were doing, etc.—all while reducing some of the logistical / planning burden on our core team. One initiative, our workshop with NWNY, has been such a strong success that we have now repeated it 4 times and other offices have used the materials as templates for workshops with other local organizations.

The world is noisy. It's hard to find the signal. Who's truly focused, making a direct impact, bringing real results in a way that's making a significant change? The answer for us is Working for Women (W4W). W4W is a standout when it comes to an organization that fulfills its promise to provide real access, real tools, and real opportunities for women to achieve greater economic independence and empowerment. As a purpose-driven company, we at SCOUT took deliberate steps in our decision-making process to choose W4W as our social impact partner to invest 2%. It was not done lightly or quickly -- our reputation is tied to our choice so it's important to know we're aligned and proud of our shared values, ethics, and integrity. W4W was our number one pick. We've not looked back.

As a woman-owned business, I want to help lift up other women, I want to support those who need the most support, and I want to see more and more successful women. But I can't do all of that and also run my business. Working for Women is doing the heavy lifting and my dollars can help fund that effort -- it's the best of both worlds. Working for Women is building a powerful community, doing the work to identify and support the most impactful organizations, and ensuring that whatever money I can contribute is effective.

Working for Women and Beth Bengtson/CEO have been very supportive of my work as Director of Raising HOPE women's mentoring program. Beth has served as a model of strength, dignity, and drive and is a mentor in her own right to any woman who has a goal to create growth and positive momentum in her organization and in her life. WFW has also provided us with two fabulous volunteer guest speakers who inspired our program participants. We are honored to have been chosen as one of the five women's organizations WFW strives to support and champion. WFW is a nonprofit that lives it's mission of helping women who help women.

Working for Women makes it so simple to support women in need! I love that they aggregate the dollars to provide greater help than just one donation could - and that they've already vetted the receiving organizations so you don't have to.
