The leadership and team supporting Working for Women are amazing, impact-oriented and insightful. Tackling one of the most intransigent challenges of our times, equality for women, and focusing on economic inequality is a daunting challenge and Working for Women has created a robust network of business and nonprofit partners while also addressing intersectoral issues such as women's health. I have had the privilege of helping with W4W the impact story and look forward to being involved with this organization as a supporter into the future. I applaud the vision and tenacity of Working for Women as they expand and grow.

The Working For Women / Paramount mentorship program was a positive, learning experience for me. Not only did I get to explore a career path that I hadn't been exposed to before, I received very helpful advice from my mentor as I continue to work towards career goals. In addition, the W4W staff were wonderful - from checking-in on a consistent basis to arranging for all the mentees and mentors to connect and learn from each other, I'm grateful I was selected for this program.

I am more than grateful to W4W for supporting me, as a new immigrant woman from Ukraine, in my journey to find my place here in New York. Over the past year, I’ve attended free workshops on negotiation, received a full scholarship provided by W4W in collaboration with Career Circle, Google, and Coursera, and earned a professional certification in Data Analytics.

Through this experience, I’ve connected with other women who, like me, are eager to learn, grow, and pursue their careers in the U.S.

Thank you for your support and kindness! It means so much not to feel alone on this journey.

As the Strategic Partnerships Lead for Community Partnerships at CareerCircle, I have the pleasure of working with Working for Women on their mission to help women achieve financial independence. They do this by connecting women to meaningful job opportunities, investing in education and training, and addressing the barriers they face in the workplace. Their commitment to serving communities is evident in all they do. I've had the privilege of connecting directly with candidates, attending partnership events, and witnessing firsthand their dedication to changing lives and empowering women. I'm delighted to continue to do work alongside them as they have been an incredible partner in this space.

From the moment I began my journey with Working for Women, I was deeply moved by the unwavering commitment of leadership to engage businesses in helping women from marginalized communities reach economic independence. Their holistic approach to tackling complex societal challenges isn't just innovative, it's revolutionary. They're not just changing lives, they're reshaping the business world to be more inclusive and just.

Working alongside the team, I've witnessed firsthand their ability to mobilize resources, foster collaboration, and drive real, tangible change. Every campaign, every project, and every initiative is undertaken with a laser-focused objective: to provide women the resources they need to reach their fullest potential.

But beyond their noble mission and impressive results, what truly sets Working for Women apart is their organizational culture. They cultivate an environment where every voice is valued, and where diversity of thinking is celebrated. This has allowed me, to deliver my best work and to continuously learn and grow.

In the world of nonprofits, where the mission is often overshadowed by administrative challenges or limited resources, Working for Women is a shining beacon. Their passion is contagious, their strategy is sound, and their impact is undeniable.

To anyone considering getting involved with Working for Women, whether as a donor, partner, board member or employee: take the plunge. Your efforts will not only change the lives of countless women, but they'll also forever change you.

Being closely involved with Working for Women has been - to say the very least - life-changing (and not just my life). It has caused me to look at my own employment practices differently, as well as generally increasing my own intuition and awareness of the benefits of investing in women in the workforce. Being a part of the organization has caused me to challenge every aspect of my decision-making process. Working for Women makes great use of donations and is a very grass-roots effort that has dramatic growth opportunities. The benefits are irrefutable, and the CEO's tenacity and drive are unparalleled.

Our partnership with Working for Women is by far the best partnership I have ever experienced during 30 years of social justice work. This is due to their process of thoughtfully and strategically building for-profit and nonprofit partnerships that deeply benefit everyone. Working for Women listens to what we need to deepen and widen our impact and then finds individuals with the expertise to effectively address our needs. They are a key player in building for-profit and nonprofit partnerships where all parties learn and grow, and lives are improved.

Working For Women (W4W) is fighting against the systemic obstacles women are facing when seeking employment and in the workplace. This year, I've had the honor of collaborating with W4W on skills training workshops, mentorship programs and a job training program, and I've seen first hand how these programs are empowering women to take a stand. I recently received a lovely message from a program participant where she wrote, "... thank you for your exceptional commitment to helping women like myself reach their full potential. Your work is making a real difference in the lives of many, and I am truly privileged to be a beneficiary of your invaluable efforts". W4W is changing the story through each woman it touches.

In our increasingly digital and purpose-driven world, Working 4 Women builds a bridge between businesses and nonprofits, removing the most challenging aspects of the "give back" process for both organizations—and ultimately paving a path for more opportunity and independence for women. Beth Bengtson and her team at Working for Women, W4W, are generating rich, thought-provoking conversations about how to improve the lives of women who are economically marginalized and why it’s important for all of us to pitch in.
I’ve known Beth for many years as a friend, colleague, and community member. We raised our boys together. I’ve had the opportunity to work with her on some amazing projects that have helped support women in difficult situations, including domestic violence. More recently, the women-owned firm I work for is getting on board as a regular doner and supporter of W4W and what they’re up to.
With each event we attend or meeting we have; I personally learn more about the impact this work has on all of us. It’s not just a conversation for women – it’s a conversation for everyone. I’m grateful to be a part of this movement to raise awareness of the power women have over every aspect of things that matter to us, including - what's not talked about enough - the economy and the environment.

Working for Women connects businesses to the growth of grassroots nonprofits serving different groups of marginalized women, and is showing there's a way to give back better. When I first met Working for Women founder Beth Bengston, I knew I wanted to be part of her team. Her passion to help under-served women get into the workforce and become economically independent by tapping the business community makes perfect sense. It's a unique approach that fills an important gap in the giving arena. By focusing on women who need a point of entry -- by working through existing organizations to deliver tangible skills and resources, we can build a future that is equitable, productive and prosperous for all. There's a need, there's room to achieve this, and there's now an organization helping businesses see their way forward to this purpose. The evidence in just the early years of Working for Women speaks to its potential. As a working Board Member, my time is well spent here. Everyone involved wins - and I mean everyone.

Working for Women made everything so easy for ZS. Beth and WFW had all sorts of things already in place so the ZS office in Evanston could easily step in and start working. Our first project together was a negotiation workshop with Bottomless Closet. Beth helped us with content, training, and any questions we had to make the workshop run smoothly. And not only did it run smoothly, it was a huge success-- both for the participants and the facilitators from ZS. It was incredibly valuable to me personally, because I got to share my expertise as someone who was recently in the position the women in the workshop are now. These women are just like me-- unsure of negotiation, unsure that they could do it, and unsure that it's appropriate to do for jobs like support staff or hourly work. It was so great to be able to share my stories and my experience and actually help someone. Further, at the end of the session-- everyone involved from the ZS side kept telling me how rewarding, inspiring, and valuable the session was to them. It got them out of their normal work and out of their normal boxes -- and they got to see new people with different experiences than their own. At ZS, we can get tunnel vision-- working on the same projects with the same people, day in and day out. This opened up their world-- and everyone expressed wanting to do it again. And a huge part of that is thanks to WFW and Beth for making the process so easy and exciting.

As a new founder, I wanted to build a business whose core values included helping women, but that's not as easy as it sounds. Doing something real, not just for PR or for a certification is difficult to execute while managing a young business with little funds and time spread around. Working for Women gave me a much earlier entry point then I ever thought possible by valuing skills as contributions. I am so proud that even thought my business is young - we are from the beginning able to help nonprofits that are helping women and as we grow, we are growing and learning ways to be more effective and successful together. As a corporate group, finding opportunities to make a meaningful impact on our communities and work with non-profit organizations can be challenging. We often reach out to non-profit organizations that would love support, but don’t have a clear way for us to get involved. Partnering with W4W has helped solve many of these challenges.

W4W finds meaningful ways to connect us with the non-profits, prioritizing creating value that is unique and mutually beneficial for both the non-profit and ZSers. By working with W4W, NY Office’s ZS Cares team has been able to engage a wider group of ZSers, create ongoing relationships with the organizations we are working with, mix in more skill-based volunteering/pro bono work with the service work we were doing, etc.—all while reducing some of the logistical / planning burden on our core team. One initiative, our workshop with NWNY, has been such a strong success that we have now repeated it 4 times and other offices have used the materials as templates for workshops with other local organizations.
