Mission: To improve business conditions for women entrepreneurs and to promote advancement of such in all industries.
Programs: Membership program services: through it membership meetings around the country,the organization ("wpo") provided continuing education and mentoring in business and leadership to women entreprenuers. The monthly educational meetings (3-4 hours) for chapter members serve as a resource for developing solutions to the unique problems and challenges encountered by women entreprenuers. At the end of 2014, wpo had 120 active membership chapters and platinum membership groups. During 2014, wpo had approximately 1,700 members in 30 states in the u. S. , plus canada, the united kingdom, peru, south africa, turkey, new zealand, sweden, and portugal. In addition to expenditures, the organization received inkind donated services, meeting space and refreshments for membership meetings valued at 326,000.
the organization held its annual conference consisting of educational workshops, seminars and keynote addresses on current business topics. Attendees learned valuable business tips and advice from expert speakers and other women-business owners. Over 850 people attended the 2014 conference. In addition, wpo recognized women business leaders in a series of webcasts with approximately 1,500 attendees. In addition to expenditures, the organization received inkind donated services, travel vouchers & conference support valued at 273,679.
the organization (wpo) continued to produce and present educational webcasts and/or podcasts on selected business topics, maintained a weekly blog, expanded regional programming in coordination with 100 black men of america. Wpo also conducted an economic impact survey. And developed a list of 50 fastest growing women led businesses. In addition, the organization received inkind donated services valued at 20,400.
