Mission: Cush is an interfaith coalition actively living our faith and values in the pursuit of justice through advocacy, education and empowerment.
Programs: Cush uses education, advocacy, and empowerment to inform, train and mobilize leaders to work on social justice issues. Cush conducted an education campaign aimed at elected officials and congregations to dispel myths and spread facts about the need for drivers cards for undocumented immigrants. Cush organized its members to educate elected officials about a proposed drivers card bill that was in the state legislature.
cush reduced the number of nonviolent offenders with felony convictions by working with prosecutors to use the municipality's authority to charge misdemeanor rather than felony charges for most cases involving a second offense for possession of marijuana.
cush worked with the community to identify strategies to reduce racial and economic disparities in public schools.
