Mission: Our mission is to operate an elementary school (pre-k to grade 8) and daycare program for children of working parents. Following the principles of dr. Maria montessori, the school provides a consistent framework for learning through the dynamic partnership of child, parent and teacher. Students are encouraged to develop a sense of personal and social responsibility and respect for themselves, others and the environment.
Programs: Operating since 1975, the school is among the first montessori elementary programs in the nation and is recognized today as one of the top montessori programs in dallas, texas. Operating on its own property since 1999, the school is located beside a creek, southeast of white rock lake, and includes an award-winning discovery garden and pond on wooded acreage which creates an outstanding outdoor learning environment. The school serves approximately 170 students from age 3 (pre-k) through grade 8. The school has been named by d magazine as one of the top 25 private schools in dallas. The school's challenging academic program is based on an individualized, self-paced course of study in several academic disciplines including literature, algebra, history, foreign languages, visual and performing arts and botany. The school's academic program encourages students to develop extraordinary skills in goal-setting, time management, independence and personal accountability. Classroom teachers have montessori training credentials in addition to university degrees.
the organization operates a "before-and-after-school" daycare program for approximately 23 children of working parents. Although secondary to the organization's primary educational purpose, daycare operations are important to a significant percentage of our students and their working parents. The service has run parallel to our primary service since the school's inception.
