The four-day schedule includes exhibits, performances, networking, speakers, classes and workshops. Total attendance was 800 with 530 paid registrations including 71 nonmembers. The program included 7 juried showcases, and 189 exhibits.
membership program: western arts alliance (waa) is a membership organization of touring and performing arts professionals engaged in promoting and presenting performing arts. Members of waa get discount registrations for the largest annual booking conference in the west, learn new techniques and best practices in informative professional development activities, receive members-only news and information (print and online), are published in and receive the annual directory, and have access to over 2500 artists and over 220 presenting organizations through waa's database. In fye 2017, waa had 424 total members and 393 paid members.
2016 professional development institute los angeles, ca: waa's professional development institute (pdi), held prior to the conference, offers tuition-based workshops and seminars using some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the field as faculty. Four hour courses are designed to offer practical information for immediate application. In los angeles, we offered three pre-conference tuition-based courses with 184 enrollees, plus two mid-conference plenaries with a total audience of 560, and 21 in-conference (free) workshops or sessions serving 918. From july 2016, waa produced getting past the inbox a three-part webinar on email marketing with 260 registered participants.
