Programs: During the years ended june 30, 2014 and 2013, west bronx operated the following programs (except as noted):nys division of housing and community renewal- neighborhood preservation programa program that provides technical services to landlords and tenants in community board 5 and7 in bronx county, in the form of assistance with obtaining repairs, rent subsidies, loan packaging and resolving overcharges. Nys division of housing and community renewal- subprime foreclosure prevention programduring the year ended june 30, 2013, west bronx operated a program that provides community outreach services to tenants at-risk of foreclosure. West bronx services include counseling tenants, providing financial education and collaborating with local financial institutions. This program was not in operation during the year ended june 30, 2014 nys office of attorney general - homeowner protection programa program that provides housing counseling in bronx county to advance the new york attorney general's efforts to address threats to home ownership precipitated by the mortgage crisis. Nyc department of housing preservation and development- neighborhood preservation program (npc)a program that provides technical services to landlords and tenants in community boards 5 and 7 in the form of assistance with inspection and removal of building violations and obtaining loans. Nyc department of housing preservation and development- neighborhood preservation program (npc) (continued)west bronx is also responsible for preliminary inspections of buildings identified by either west bronx or the new york city department of housing preservation and development (hpd) as potentially having housing code violations. Newsletters are also provided to landlords under this program. Services to tenants in the northwest bronx includes providing assistance in obtaining repairs and rent subsidies, and educating tenants in the region on eviction prevention through workshops and counseling meetings. Additionally, newsletters and referrals are also provided to tenants. Nyc department of youth and community development - immigration initiative during the year ended june 30, 2014 and 2013, west bronx operated a program that provides basic services in areas such as housing, health, employment, and education. This program also provides legal services including obtaining permanent residency and/or u. S. Citizenship. The services provided give immigrants full access to benefits and services and prevent them from having to rely on informal and/or unregulated structures.
