Programs: Stewart Blood Center operates a fully operating blood collection facility at six locations throughout the service area, including Longview, Lufkin, Marshall, Mount Pleasant, Paris, and Tyler. Mobile units travel throughout the region to assist the facilities in collecting over 30,000 units of blood yearly.In 1986, Stewart Blood Center added a Histocompatibility Laboratory (HLA), the only crossmatching laboratory in greater East Texas, which works to match donor kidneys with patients in need.Stewart Blood Center, in conjunction with the National Marrow Donor Program, also operates a Marrow Donor Registry, which to date has matched 23 marrow donors with recipients from all over the world.
