Not only have I adopted a horse from Forget Me Not Senior horse rescue, Inc. I also volunteer/work there. We have an amazing dedicated small staff and always growing/looking for more helpers. We specialize in rescuing from kill pens or neglectful situations. We provide vet care and rehabilitation to get the horses healthy and back on track to living a great life. We dedicate a great amount of time giving love and care to finding them their forever home. A lot of these horses come with unknown stories and sadly come from some very unfortunate environments . It is all up to the staff at this amazing facility to figure out the riding level of the horse, personality and Restore their faith and trust in humanity to ensure we make the right “horse/owner fit” for each person adopting. I had visited a couple times with my sister in law and the horses get lots of Love and are cared for tremendously.

This rescue gives excellent care to the horses, making sure they get vet, farrier, and meeting their dietary and socialization needs. They also work hard to find good homes after the horses have recovered.

there is a senior horse rescue, in tyler, texas called forget-me-not. throughout the year i have witnessed amazing comebacks in the health and well-being of horses that have been rescued by this truly dedicated organization. from literally emaciated, and in horrified condition- forget me not preforms miracles bringing these horses back to life, finding homes for them where they are cared for and showered with love.it takes special people to preform such miracles, and i personally am convinced that forget me not, is a troop of angels at work- need i say more. if your unaware of this organization- look them up, youll be amazed when you become aware of the difference they make in caring for these horses and how actually happy, and trusting they become- because of the dedication and love of forget-me- not.
I was greeted by the kindest and knowledgeable staff I’ve donated before and will continue these horses deserve all the love they can get ! I also now volunteer and that is therapy for me I’m blessed to be able to give time and see such giving loving staff work hard to get the help these horses deserve! What a great non profit
Forget-Me-Not has truly been one of the best volunteer experiences I've had. The staff is knowledgeable, respectful, and meaningful with the work they do. They pay close attention to the needs and health of their rescues, and ensure that each volunteer is educated and comfortable with caring for the horses in need. Forget-Me-Not has shown that these horses have a second chance at life, and have included many glow-up pictures with current and previous horses that have or will go to loving homes with someone who will take the time to learn and care for them. These are amazing people with big hearts and always put these animals first.

I came to this rescue before as just an outsider but eventually got the amazing opportunity to join as a volunteer. I have learned so much just in 1 month and continue to learn more and understand the importance of the work done here. Seeing the progress of rescues is so worth the hard to stomach moments. I wish more rescues were like this one where they really are all about the horses and not what they put out for others to see. Everyone I’ve met through this rescue have been so amazing and taught me so much individually it’s crazy. I’m so unbelievably great fil for this place picking me up off my feet and showing me so many things I never thought I would. This place is so amazing I wish I could express express it in only words!
Forget-Me-Not is amazing! They are always working so hard to do everything they can to get these horses from terrible situations into excellent homes! I have adopted 3 horses from Forget-Me-Not and they are all exactly what was advertised! They are all amazing horses in their own right. I have adopted old, young, small, huge, rideable, unrideable, trained, untrained, etc. They have something for everyone! 100/100 recommended for those looking for horses to rescue they truly care for them and love them the way they need I mean I volunteered here myself and I seen the difference between a fake rescue and a real true rescue and this rescue definitely knows what they are doing and they pull so much out of pocket just to keep theses lil guys alive and fed and happy Jennifer is always working hard to make sure they are all taken care of no matter where she’s at and what she is doing to her these horses are family. And everybody who is volunteering here they all take pride in caring for each and every horse, each and every day they are there myself included.

Love the view and love the people and their very well cared for horses. Every horse is treated with the same care and respect. I personally have volunteered here myself for quite some time and can say that these horses health are taken very seriously and when it comes to adoptions they strive to look for the best forever homes for these guys. I could go on-on but that just goes to show this place is worth checking out. Jennifer goes above and beyond for these poor creatures ❤️
The time it takes to get rescues back in good health is a long tedious journey. It takes weeks and weeks of feed and medication. There is no quick fix, it just takes time. FMNSHR takes the time to give rescues a place to relax and rehab. They are a simple rescue and by being simple more energy goes straight to caring for the horses.
My first meeting with this Rescue is a story I will never forget, like our soldiers no one left behind this is the feeling you take away with you after meeting the herd and the lady behind the love of all horses no horse left behind. I will purchase my stock from her they are nursed back from death, trained, and returned to a loving family, and keeps tabs on every horse adopted. Now, what a legacy for rescue horses.

We were looking for a beginner-safe mare for my husband. We contacted Forget-Me-Not Senior Horse Rescue. They matched him up with 3 prospects and guided him through meeting and riding them. Summer seemed a very good fit, and we took her home. She’s been perfect. All the horses at the rescue are very well cared for and are evaluated thoroughly both medically and behaviorally. Run by wonderful, caring, dedicated people who follow up on their placements. Best rescue around.
This rescue is a blessing to many of us. I’m blessed to be able to be able to sit and watch the love that spreads with helping hands of forget-me-not. I’ve got a couple donkeys from here with being hands on with them they have become a part of our forever family.
I only volunteered here for a short period of time but I can honestly say that the horses that are brought here are given another chance at a good life, they are fed well, vetted, and assessments are done to determine their temperament. They try and do their very best to help or aide all different type of equine even if it's just helping it pass without suffering (which is more rare than often). This rescue has the potential to do so much more if given the opportunity and the financial stability. So please if you need a charity worth donating to then please check then out. Sometimes you'd be surprised how much help just one donation could help with care, feed, and even the ability to help more needing rescues. Remember it's the animals asking it's just we have to do the talking for the them. So please do the neighborly thing and be that person who can proudly say I did that I helped save a horse today no wait I helped save two, five, even more it feels awesome and it's also has some benefits on taxes. Just think of it as helping rescue that little pony you've always wanted as a child or the one your own child wants in a way it becomes yours or theirs because you made it possible for them to be rescued. I have adopted FIVE horses from this rescue over the last year. A couple of them needed some extra care and I initially took them on as fosters, but nothing I wasn't aware of and couldn't handle. All but one, are beautiful, happy and healthy today!! My first adopted heart horse sustained an injury that he couldn't come back from, so we had to let him go. That's the risk you take with any horse and it wasn't the rescue's fault. I love all my babies and when it comes time to help another, I will do so gladly!
I love it their!! It's an amazing place with love and care for the horses, mules, donkeys, minis, and it feels like home. I encourage everyone I run into to stop by and help out and if u are looking for a horse or 4 legged friend that's the place to go. They need forever homes! There are so many good things to say about this rescue. I have been a volunteer for almost a year, and I’ve had the ability to save horses from a state that no horse deserves. I get to help give them a second chance in life, and I help find homes for them Where they are going to live out their life in happiness and joy, this may be a small rescue but the people that work there and volunteer there make it bigger than anything. The heart that everybody has into these horses is astonishing and heartwarming .every day you see horses for sale at the pen , and you wish you could save them all but there’s no way .we save as many as we can and as many as we can handle this rescue has not only saved horses, but it saved me. It is giving me a purpose in life. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to save and rescue my favorite animal and I wouldn’t want to do it anywhere else.

I have volunteered at Forget-Me-Not Senior Horse Rescue since before they were an official LLC Non Profit. They give so many horses a second chance at life who have been forgotten, neglected, malnourished, injured and abandoned. I adopted a senior horse whom I absolutely love named Spencer last year. I would highly recommend supporting their rescue and adopting a horse, donkey or mule from them. And don't let the name fool you as they do rescue and adopt all ages.
I adopted Pistol my buddy from Forget me not senior horse rescue!! He has been one of the best horses I have ever met. He is a fighter and has come so far in such a short amount of time. I would have never found my Pistol if not for Forget Me Not Senior Horse Rescue!! This is what it’s all about saving these amazing horses..and allowing them to show you the fight, the love, and the compassion they have for saving their lives!! Forget-Me-Not Senior Horse Rescue does such a great service. They took the time to introduce the horses to us and found three that suited our needs perfectly. We adopted all three horses.
Absolutely love volunteering at this rescue. Forget Me Not Senior Horse Rescue goes above and beyond to take care of the horses. It is a lot of hard work but this rescue is absolutely up for the challenges faced everyday. I can not be there as much as I would like but make it there as often as I can.
I have worked with this wonderful rescue since it started and I have adopted my best friend from here as well. I spend three of the week here and they're the day I looked forward to the most. This facility is very family oriented, have our own on site farrier and vet come very frequently. The goal is to match a horse with the adopter so we have an in person application process for this very reason. We schedule what is called a "meet&greet" so our adopters have the opportunity to get a feel for the horses they're looking at, see how they behave with other horses and alone. I can't say enough good things about this rescue. This rescue is about hard work and then fun. I love the people I am surrounded by here and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Jennifer and staff go into kill pens, places most of us would not have the stomach to go. She identifies those horses that might have a second life to rescue. Once at Forget-me-not, those horses are given vet care, nutrition, and lots of love until matched with their forever families.
Forget Me Not Senior Horse Rescue is getting things done for the horses. Namely, providing much needed medical, farrier, and emotional care to East Texas’s most vulnerable horses.
I went to visit and was impressed with how they have everything organized. From the appointment time to the caring staff, you can see that they are putting their heart and soul into rescuing and rehabilitating the highest risk horse population. And they’re doing amazing work adopting these horses to suitable homes.
This is a place that is providing a safe haven for animals who have been discarded for various reasons. The staff goes above and beyond to educate families on long term care and encourages hope to give these beautiful creatures a wonderful life.
This is an amazing Rescue the folks that run it are absolutely amazing it is a 501c3 non profit rescue. I volunteer here and absolutely can not begin to describe how much I enjoy being there and around people who love horses as much as I do. Some come in due to needing a new home others come in needing a complete new start learning to trust people all over again due to the situations they come from. Me and my fiancé have both adopted horses from here and could not be happier then to give our babies a forever home!!!
