I heard about Champions for Children while in college and was able to seat down with a counselor year later for resources that would be helpful for my son’s ADHD diagnosis. The therapist that met with me and Benjamin was incredibly patient and supportive. Although medication ultimately was a journey and route that we had to take which we received from his pediatrician. I really enjoyed being able to get a different perspective and additional information so that we could delay and keep medication dosage low.
Champions has awesome counselors. Ms. Melanie was so kind and patient with my child. They are such a blessing to this community.
Champions for Children is the best for children and those that work with children. They seek to learn your needs and then find a way to meet that need whatever it may be. Training in every area is available for directors or teachers. The staff is very friendly and so easy to work with. I would recommend anyone that works with children or has children, to learn what champions has to offer.
Champions for Children strives to provide the best and the highest quality services to children in Smith County. They are constantly expanding their offerings to reach early childhood teachers, families of autistic children, and providing counseling services to families. They recently added a program to help new mothers be aware of the milestones their infants should be meeting during certain phases. This organization truly works to make sure that the children in our area have a solid foundation.
Whether it’s learning tools, counseling, resources, and/or brain development practices, Champions for Children of Smith County assists children and their families, beginning with newborns. This organization continues to successfully improve the lives of children and families, as they have for thousands over the last 20 years.
Champions for Children is one of the best nonprofit organizations in East Texas and dedicates itself to the highest quality of service to the children in our area.
Champions for Children is a well organized non profit. The professionals who work there are always so nice and willing to help with any question you may have. They offer not only the city of Tyler but surrounding areas important training to make us all the best early childcare providers we can be. It is worth the hour of travel for myself and my staff to attend their trainings.
When I send my teachers to trainings at Champions For Children, I know they will come back with lots of new ideas that will benefit the children in their classrooms. We use the Champions For Children curriculum with confidence, knowing our children will be served with a wide variety of learning activities that are always developmentally appropriate. Champions For Children offers valuable resources and services to children, families, and the child care centers in our community.
Great organization. Offers many ways to keep sharp and learn new things as well. Would like to see techniques for handling special needs child when mixed with regular full class.
It was recommended that we have Champions for Children evaluate our son in his preschool. With what they observed it started us on the path to find an official diagnosis and ways to help him better. We still go to Champions for the therapies they offer. Everyone is incredible and always goes above and beyond to help! It’s so comforting having help from people who actually have been in the position we’re in as parents. To me that’s priceless!!!
Champions for Children has worked tirelessly in this past year to continue to provide much needed services to day care centers, children, and families throughout East Texas - even during the pandemic. They quickly adapted and even expanded their programs to reach clients via alternate pathways -both online and in person (with social distancing). The staff has exhibited a high level of professionalism as they fulfill their mission. I could not be more proud of the leadership and wonderful staff at Champions for Children, and I am honored to serve on their Board of Directors for 6 years.

LOVE this pace!!! I think it’s just as much helpful for my daughter as it is for me. We are so thankful to have found them and for the all the services they provide!
I was introduced to Champions while my son attended a local daycare. Champions conducted an observation (no charge to parent) on my son while in class to address some socialization and anger issues he was having at the age of 3. When meeting with the staff during the post observation session, I was absolutely blown away at the knowledge, detailed assessment & advice they provided to help assist myself, my child and my sons teacher !! It has made the world of difference for my son, I cannot imagine not going through the process with Champions & I’m so grateful for their unexpected presence in our lives . Photo of my son now, age 10! We still use the tips & tricks we learned from Champions year ago to help him be successful in the classroom!
