Mission: To support and encourange the development of art and artists, including but not limited to the support of contemporary art and artists in california, artist residency programs, educational programs, providing resources to artists regarding funding and exhibition opportunities, and to carry on other public and charitable activities associated with this goal. This will be futhered through:1) establishing and running an art gallery which produces high-caliber contemporary art programing for the sacramento region in the organizations facilities. 2) operation of an artist residency program providing low and no cost studio space to working artists3) utilizing the organizations facilities to provide art education and reference resources including a community print lab.
Programs: Artists in residence programthe organization has made significant progress in building out the artist studios. As of march 31, 2012, 20 of an expected 40 total studios were complete. During the time period of this filing we upgraded the classroom including paint, upgrading the lights and power washing the floors, and framed an additional 3 studios toward the finished total.

community art educationthe organization did not host any classes during this period because it was finishing it's classroom upgrades. While classroom construction was being completed we focused on our film program, hosting several screenings both in the organization's facilities and, through our partnership, at the crest theatre. In addition to film programming we partnered with the axis gallery collective to host an art exhibition, with the sacramento french film festival to host their winter shorts program, and with the center for contemporary art sacramento to participate in a city-wide open studio event. . The organization also held 10 screenings of "art" films for the community during the period.
