Mission: To identify and create technological solutions to improve independence and quality of life for people with disabilities.
Programs: V-linc provides assessments and custom solutions to people with disabilities through its volunteer medical professionals and engineers as well as partnerships with engineering classes in secondary schools and at institutions of higher education. Solutions include adaptive devices, equipment modifications and software (assistive technologies) aiming to promote independence and full participation in society. V-lincs custom solutions to meet unique needs are considered when no commercial product is easily available. Engineering and medical professionals, among other professionals, contributed services valued at $97,800 to people with disabilities by customizing devices or equipment to help them become more independent. In addition, engineering classes in 11 secondary schools and institutions of higher education provided over 5,300 hours of volunteer time customizing devices or equipment. As part of its training activities v-linc offers an inclusive day camp program for children with and without disabilities; camp includes computer and tablet training and creative activities as well as field trips.
