Mission: USAAD, founded in 1990, grew out of the need for a national organization to serve deaf aquatic athletes. USAAD serves as a national sporting organization under the USA Deaf Sports Federation. Most of USAAD's programs focus on youth, development, and elite programs. Every four years, USAAD is responsible for sending a swim and water polo team to the Deaf World Games (a.k.a. the Deaf Olympics).
