Halo Animals India has been helping the Blue Cross of India for many years now and they have supported the horses used for beach rides which were abandoned during the Covid pandemic. I am Sonam Yangzom (a 57 year old Tibetan refugee woman) from Nayabasti, Boudha Jorpati. I have been feeding and getting spayed many stray dogs in Boudha, Jorpati, Naya Basti, Kumari Gal, Laure Tol and Tusal for almost 18 years on my own. Now it’s been almost 3 years ago Help Animals India came to know about my work and since then they have been helping me to pay for the sterilization of the street doggies.
I found Help Animals India the best NGO for the Animals. They are helping lots and lots of animals, and birds, in India and Nepal. And they are helping many other NGO in India and Nepal. I love this NGO for three reasons: 1. They are serving an immensely underserved cause - needy animals in India 2. They know how to stretch the dollar so they can help as many animals as possible and 3. The impact is real! I have been on the ground in Varanasi at Varanasi for Animals - one of the many animal NGOs in India who they support. They are helping where literally no one else is helping. Way back in the nineties, the Blue Cross of India (BCI) in Madras was visited by Ms Eileen Weintraub of Help Animals India. The BCI which was registered in 1964 was a group that started five years earlier and was an all-volunteer group till 1987 with even its 24x7 ambulances driven by off-duty Indian Airlines pilots! Even today, in our 59th year since incorporation, we are fortunate in having a group of professionals who donate their time and efforts on a purely voluntary basis to look after much of the administration and special programmes like our adoptathons and The Great Indian Dog Show for non-pedigrees. This ensures that donations received by us go into helping animals without being eroded by “administrative expenses”. Our Animal Birth Control programme for street dogs is the oldest such initiative for street dogs in the world and has been endorsed by the WHO, OIE and FAO as the most effective and humane way to control the street dog issue and eliminate rabies and is the basis for the Dog Control Rules of the Government of India in 2001 which makes dog killing as a method of population control illegal and has been replicated the world over.
We were the first animal welfare organisation in India to get the Platinum certification from GuideStar India for transparency - in 2013!!

I came in contact with Help Animals India when I started being unable to support financially a street dog organisation called Kathmandu Locals in Nepal. The organisation wanted to sterilize 200 street dogs, or at least the females, but they didn't have the money. They contacted a government group to get the financial support and pressured them as the overpopulation of the street dogs in Kathmandu is very bad. Criminality and abuse of street dogs has become a daily issue. The heat season had started and the government group hadn't shown up. At that moment it was Help Animals India who decided to take responsibility for the sterilization of these dogs. The campaign lasted a couple of months. Three times Help Animals India supported Kathmandu Locals for the sterilization of nearly 200 dogs.
For me Help Animals India is an amazing animal organisation supporting local programs in India and Nepal. They will support the animal local shelter in whatever is needed. We at People for Animals Agra (PFA Agra) have been associated with Help Animals India for quite a few years and it has been our privilege. Firstly we PFA Sikkim would like to thank Help Animal India for donating ambulance on month of March 2021. Ambulance have been very helpful in rescue dogs/monkey/ cats. Our ambulance do rescue operatios in border and remote areas where such facility is lacking. SARAH also takes our help for many rescue operations. ABC program output has increased due to our ambulance. We do about 40+ rescue/recovery operations per month. The odometer reads 45000+kms covered so far.

PFA sikkim is so helpful, they come for rescue wherever possible. They have even come to help needy animals to remote place. I have called them to Ravangla to rescue a dog, which is like 4 hours from capital, they immediately came to rescue the dog (1st photo). They also came to rescue the blind dog(2nd photo) .

It was really nice experience and thank for taking initiative for voiceless animal.

My name is Maneka Sanjay Gandhi and I am the Chairperson of the largest animal welfare group in India : People for Animals. We have over 26 hospitals across the country and 200 units who rescue thousands of animals daily. Much of our work has been successful because of the regular and intelligent donations made by Eileen Weintraub , Help Animal India. She is dedicated, reaches out to the farthest areas of the country and sees that they are serviced in many ways. She takes on good animal welfare organisations that need one component to become better and she provides that. From the only animal ambulance in Sikkim to ambulances in the Himayalan mountains of Uttar Dinajpur and Kalimpong to Kollam in Kerala , she has given dozens of ambulances , helped the training of volunteers, paid for rooms to be added to shelters and laboratories to be made. When a tiny area is collapsing under the weight of dog litters , she sends money to sterilize the dogs as she did for the railway tracks of Kolkata.

About ten years I saw a story about helping dogs in India. I decided to donate to this organization and over the years have been amazed and lifted by the dedication, love, compassion, transperancy and spiritual beauty of Help Animals India. Eileen Weintraub, Help Animals India director,is tireless in her calling of helping those who suffer. Help Animals India also supports other animal rescues in India and offers education , community support and love to the animals and people it serves. I've been following Help Animals India for years and know they go where other organizations don't to do the hands-on work of rescue and rehabilitation in the service of nonhuman animals. You will see this when you go to their website and read about the many projects they make possible.

I have been donating to this charity for a few years now and I highly recommend it. Help Animals India pools all the donations they get and disburses them among several worthy animal charity organizations who they partner with across India and Nepal. They also feed poor/homeless people vegan meals. In addition, Help Animals India directs donations to remote and forgotten towns and areas in India where the donated funds are incredibly productive in caring for animals and educating the people of the needs of animals in their community. I have been donating to this group several times a year for two years and consider it to be the most satisfying and productive use of the limited funds I have to give to animal care and welfare. The US dollar goes a long way in India and Help Animals India ensures that the best groups who do the most for animals get it.

Help Animals India has done a splendid job of helping the Visakha SPCA, a project where I have some familiarity. As a consequence they have brought about significant improvements in the conditions under which non-human animals survive in the area. Eileen has a excellent knowledge of the operations on the ground at VSPCA and as a consequence she is able to direct attention to areas of greatest need. Help Animals India is highly regarded by all at Visakha and I cannot speak highly enough of their efforts in helping those who need it most.

The way they help animals in need is selfless and caring. So many times India sinks into chaos. The storms and heavy rains destroy all food and shelter for humans and animals. Having to sacrifice to include the animals during such hard times is compassion at its best. It seems to me that the people who work with the sick and often dying animals have understood that the life of an animals is as much worth to them as our life is to us. We are a family of care and love, and every action done with utmost care and compassion plants a seed for a brighter and more balanced universe. It further seems to me that these people understood that we are supposed to be of service for each other, the animals and all of creation included. What a greater cause can there be than to help such people to help other beings in ever better ways. In fact. I can say with the utmost conviction that I wish to have all the people who care so much, and ever wish to increase the quality of care, I wish to keep them forever and all times in my heart. That much of value is their work that it seems sad of one cannot help as much as we wish to. The skills are there and so is the goodwill, the intention and the love. May all beings become healthier and happier and may the animals feel that their life was worth living. Thank you - you all are so very precious and needed. Sometimes, I cannot believe that at this day and age of suffering and war, such good people who care so much especially for the animals, who often suffer more, because of us humans, still exist. People who reduce suffering to animals help to increase happiness in the world for all beings alike. It would be amazing if these wonderful people would get an award. They more than deserve it. I have supported Help Animals India for some time and have huge admiration for the tireless work they do to raise funds for very deserving causes. Anybody who has travelled in India will have noticed the plight of animals there. Supporting and donating to HAI will make a huge difference. Without groups like this and leaders like Eileen those animals would suffer without help. Those of us who don't get involved directly with fund-raising should be very grateful for those that put in their time and energy in doing the hard work for us.

I have loved animals since I was a child. I recall running upto the street animals in India and playing with them, even as others looked on in apprehension or fright. As I grew older, I was saddened by the indifference that most of the people in this world have towards animals. Help Animals India is a group that is doing spectacular work not only in treating and taking care of animals but also in educating people to be sensitive to animals. I have not come across such a passionate, close-knit group of people, working day in and day out to make the lives of animals in India better. They are professional, prompt and extremely transparent. Help Animals India provides employment to a number of local Indians at their shelters. Not only are they improving the employees standard of living, but they are also sensitizing and educating the society and teaching them to be compassionate.

I am happy to have donated to Help Animals India . I have seen the suffering of the animals of India first hand and much help is needed . I believe that every penny counts and that our donations go much further from this side of the world . I hope that they can continue to keep up their good work .

I especially care about animals in the so-called developing countries such as India because they are so often neglected and suffer so much. And the US dollar goes so much farther when donated to them. I traveled to Visakhapatnam, India to volunteer at this terrific animal shelter and found amazing people doing incredible work for the animals. The shelter is home to more than 6000 animals including Water Buffalo, Cows, Horses, Dogs, Cats, Star Tortoises, Guinea Pigs, Ducks and more. The animals live in excellent conditions and are well-loved by all the staff. Additionally, in the 15 years that the VSPCA has been operating, they have spayed, neutered and vaccinated over 70,000 street dogs! As a result, the condition of the street dogs in Visakhapatnam is better than any other city I visited in India. And the people are more kind to the animals, having seen the wonderful example set by the VSPCA.

For several years, I have followed the work of Help Animals India through their facebook page & website. I am very impressed by the help they give to several animal welfare groups which care for a variety of creatures. Almost every penny of each dollar donated goes directly to those in need. I appreciate that one of their projects, VSPCA, is very active with the green movement, especially at Kindness Farm. I plan to volunteer with VSPCA in the near future.

Help Animals India does an amazing job at supporting effective rescues in India. The supported rescues and organizations all have succesfully made changes to the animals in their care and to the outlook towards animals in India. They are not focussed on just a certain set of animals, but on the bigger picture to bring about compassion in people for animals, people, as well as the environment, educate and increase the reach of veganism, illegal wildlife trade, green efforts and much more. Help Animals India assists so many different animals and humans in so many areas that there is something for everybody! I appreciate that environmental concerns are part of all sanctuary plans and a holistic approach is always taken to benefit current and future populations. The groups also work on educating community members how to be better stewards for animals, in many cases animals that people depend on to earn their living. People may inquire, "Why help Indian animals when the problems are so great and there are animals here who need our help?" When you see the extreme minimum standards of living most animals in India experience and how far U.S. dollars go, you understand the answer to that question. Animals and the environment in India are in serious need of help. Poverty, apathy, hunger, superstition, pollution, overpopulation and simple ignorance are some of the reasons the animals and ecosystems there are in such peril.
Help Animals India is a wonderful non-profit (not a single volunteer or worker gets a salary, 100% of donation go directly to animal rescue in India) that fights to help protect animals and bring about environmental awareness. The charities that Help Animals India supports recycle cow dung to produce bio-gas to make energy. This bio-gas reduces the need for electricity and can be used for cooking and helps the local communities.
Garbage and waste are another huge issue in India. plastic bags line the streets and animals from dogs to cows frequently ingest them, causing a plethora of health problems and painful deaths. Help Animals India supports surgery to remove plastics and garbage from the stomachs of animals, who would otherwise die. This also brings about more public awareness to the issues of non-biodegradable waste.
Help Animals India is doing the best they can within a poor and polluted country to inspire social awareness and action to protect the planet and animals that we share it with!

One of my Indian penfriends, who funds most of her animal care herself recently observed that it's people in the West who provide more care and funds for Indian animal welfare than Indians themselves. She was, of course, referring in part to Help Animals India, who step in and support where help is most needed. It might be kitten formula being shipped to where it can't be bought, money for a cart for a paralysed dog, funds for vaccines or ABC. Animals with special needs can be cared for in sanctuaries, providing there are sufficient funds. Some organisations have received money from HAI to buy vehicles to catch and release the animals for neutering, and animal ambulances for casualties. I donate to Help Animals India because I know my money is always well used, and a little goes a long way in rupees!

I have great confidence in Help Animals India to use my donations to make a difference in the lives of these needy animals. It is my favorite organization because I read the reports of what the funds are used for and am greatful for their resourcefulness and dedication. I will continue to support this organization.
