Mission: Unison behavioral health group, inc. Is a nonprofit corporation providing various services to residents of lucas county, ohio. Unison provides medical services, support for short-term care, community support services, residential services, psychiatric social services, dual diagnosis support, and partial hospitalization support.
Programs: Medical services-the medical staff at unison behavioral health group strives to provide the best medical care to our consumers. Our medical staff plays a leading role in delivering necessary psychiatric, medical, nursing, and educational care to our clients. Our psychiatrists provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, medication prescriptions and on-going medical and laboratory monitoring. Our psychiatrists actively provide necessary educational services to nursing staff, case managers, therapists and facilitate comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment team planning. Our medical director actively participates in the coordination of intradepartmental activities, maintains close working relationships with other psychiatric facilities and medical directors, monitors peer review programs, supervises central pharmacy functioning, serves as terminal distributor to ohio state board of pharmacy and provides necessary consultation services to other psychiatrists and members of the nursing staff and management. The medical director maintains close contact with pharmacological representatives in order to provide the medical department with current trends in pharmaceutics. Our nursing staff provides health screening, blood pressure screening, client monitoring (medications, vital signs, weight, etc. ), health and other inservice education to clients, group home operators and case managers, facilitates inpatient lab services, provides on-site visitation to group and private homes and generally assists the psychiatrists and other staff in the implementation of medical care.
health home services - the health home program is responsible for the overall care management and care coordination of a client. This includes integration of their physical health, mental health, long term care, and social service needs.
short term care - unison's outpatient counseling services are offered in a comfortable and confidential setting where individuals can explore their choices and develop their strengths. Outpatient counseling offers clients an opportunity to take control of their life and begin to heal emotional wounds. Clients are given treatment options within the program, including: individual, conjoint, family sessions and participation in therapy groups held at the starr, cherry and woodruff offices. Clients may also be referred to specialized services in other programs.
