As a board member, I can see first hand the good that this organization does. It not only supports women who are affected by this disease, but it has an active outreach program to provide education on the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.

I started with this wonderful organization as a volunteer for the annual walk. I discovered how passionate this organization is about providing monetary support for women with gynecological cancers. As a survivor of ovarian cancer, I know how important that support is. I am now a member of the board and I have seen first hand the dedication of all of its members. This group has been an important resource for many women and their caregivers
I have been involved with the Ovarian Cancer Connection for over 20 years. On Christmas Eve this year my Grandma K. passed away from Ovarian Cancer. This will be 40 years that she has been gone. I can now reflect on all the improvements that have been made since my Grandma's diagnosis. I have learned so much about Ovarian Cancer & it has helped me to be proactive with my own body.
I was diagnosed last year with cancer and without their help I would never been able to get to my treatments. I had always looked out for the kind words and inspirational words that they gave. I am very very grateful for them and always will be.
This organization is very helpful. I have yet been able to attend a support group meeting due to getting treatment or having doctor appointments. I'm hoping to in the near future for sure.
My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2014. I contacted Ovarian Cancer Connection just to process the diagnosis and for my mom to have encouragement. Gini answered the call and provided support and so much more! Gini and the OCC were there for my mom and our family through the hardest times of our lives. We love this non-profit for everything it stands for and for all the support they give to all these brave women. We attend the walk every year in honor of our mom and the other ladies. It’s a wonderful time and so much thought goes into everything the OCC does. The OCC cares so deeply for those they serve. Our family is forever grateful to Gini and the OCC.
I joined the Board to be able to give back and share my experiences with other women dealing with Ovarian Cancer. It has been a great experience. An amazing group of women. Our fund raisers raise money to help women in our community get to and from their appointments. We are raising awareness of the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. It is extremely important work that is done with such care and understanding.

Any amazing organization that is always looking for more volunteers and more people to get the word out about Ovarian Cancer. Saturdays Ellen Jackson Ovarian Cancer Walk was the 2nd one I participated in. I am so glad I joined this nonprofit. Great people with big hearts. Looking forward to many more years working with this nonprofit to get the word out about Ovarian Cancer.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and started chemo about a month before the Covid pandemic. In that most frightening and overwhelming time, Gini & the Ovarian Cancer Connection offered an unbelievable amount of care, support, and resources to help me. From selecting a wig that was exactly like the hair I would eventually lose, to Reiki and massages, and a wonderful support group, they made a great difference. I felt seen and cared for, and I will forever be grateful. Truly an amazing group!
As a survivor, Gini and the board brought a sense of ease and calm. The support and guidance was top notch!
I became a board member because of how much this organization helped me while I was going through treatments. To help others who are going through what I went through, so they know they aren't alone. These ladies are more than an organization, they make you feel like pay off the family!!!!
A very dear friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few years ago. Unable to work, she faced several challenges as a single mom during her journey with cancer. Once the OCC received a referral from her physician, transportation assistance was set up and she never had to worry again about missing a treatment. Kris
I am a two-time uterine cancer survivor and a proud member of the Ovarian Cancer Connection.
Our chapter is fairly small but we are mighty. We have one fundraiser in the fall. The proceeds help local women who are battling a gynecological cancer. We give them gas cards or funds for a utility bill or groceries. It’s tough working and getting treatments.
In a couple of weeks, we will be attending a health fair at a large factory nearby. Part of our mission is to educate about symptoms and treatments, and we are very excited for this opportunity at Whirlpool Corp, Clyde Division.
I’m so happy to be part of a great group of people!
Three years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. The Ovarian Cancer Connection helped me with gas gift cards to get to alle my Dr appts and chemo appts and the many blood draws in-between all that. That was a great help but even more it was the caring notes that came with every card. Those kind words were so uplifting to me. This is a wonderful organization!!! Also I'm now cancer free

The Ovarian Cancer Connection is a local nonprofit and not associated with any national organization. 100% of the money raised stays local to support women currently in treatment for all gynecologic cancers. Without the support of generous donors and volunteers, our ladies would be struggling to get to their medical appointments. God Bless the OCC.
I have been a part of this amazing non-profit for many years now, not only as a board member but as a twenty- year survivor of Ovarian Cancer. Their passion and mission of educating and raising awareness to the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer to the community is so very important and much needed. I have the privilege of serving on the Outreach Committee and going out to Health Fairs, etc. and sharing this mission with others. They are so committed to helping the ladies in NW OH and SE MI through their Financial Assistance Program where they offer gasoline cards to help with patient transportation, utility bills and a wealth of support and encouragement. We are so fortunate to have an organization like the Ovarian Cancer Connection in the Toledo area.

The Ovarian Cancer Connections is so very passionate about their mission of education and raising awareness to the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer to this community. This program helps the many Gynecological Cancer Survivors with gasoline cards they receive to help with transportation to their DR appointment and chemotherapy treatments along with financially assisting with some of their personal bills they might have. They are also able to use and support any local vendors in the NW OH and SE MI areas that are needed for their fundraising events. We can be proud to have such an awesome non-profit here in our backyard!
My wife and I have been associated with the OCC since 2017, when she was 1st diagnosed. Gini and her group has been with us every step of the way on our journey. Tina passed away 11/20/21, and I will forever be thankful and supportive of the OCC for all that they did for us and all others. Doug
OCC has taught me so much about ovarian cancer which is a terrible disease. I have been fighting this for almost 3 years. I have received gas cards from them to help pay for the many doctor/treatment appointments I have. They help in whatever way they can both physically & emotionally. Everyone is a volunteer, no one takes a salary. Shows the dedication this organization has to the patients. I am so thankful for all of them.

The ongoing written emotional support and outreach from OCC has meant a lot to my mother. This has helped her to not feel as lonely in her cancer fight. Also, the gas cards gifts has relieved some financial stress for all the required medical appointments she has endured. Keep up the great work. Thank you
The OCC provides a wonderful service to our communities and individuals. They help with gas money to Dr appointments and any travel for ovarian cancer treatments. I have found them the most compassionate and caring individuals. Their support is an asset to the local communities and very valuable to enhance the quality of life for ovarian cancer patients.
OCC is led by a caring, dedicated, selfless group of individuals, committed to help lighten the fear of this disease through education and lessen the financial burden, for those in need, who are faced with multiple months of traveling to and from treatments. OCC is there providing information, support and reassurance during an extremely frightening time in these women’s lives! And, having every dollar remain local to those they serve is a tremendous asset, as well.
An amazing organization run by the most caring individuals. Proud to be a part of this important cause.

Great proactive effort to increase awareness of ovarian and other gynecological cancers and in offering financial assistance to ladies who need a hand up. Leadership is first class!
I have been fighting ovarian cancer for over a year and a half. Since day one Ovarian Cancer Connection has been there for both emotional support and financial support in the form of gas cards. My treatments are a 30 minute drive from my house. The money they provide helps with getting me to my appointments. The emotional & educational support is amazing. The outreach to the individuals as well as the community to teach everyone the signs of cancer, make them aware of help available to them, and if need, just talk to someone is so much appreciated. By sharing what I have learned from them, others have been made aware of what to watch for in their bodies. 100% of contributions go back into the community to help those in need. The volunteers are wonderful and just that, Volunteers! I am so grateful for the Ovarian Cancer Connection.
My daughter Amanda, was 24 when she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in 2004. The group Let’s Talk it Ovar was her intro to support groups. She and others from this group help form the OCC. The support given and received with OCC has grown leaps and bounds since then. Focused on Ovarian cancer for the first years, OCC now supports all women with Gynecological cancers. This network allows women and their families to receive whichever type support is needed: financial, referral, personal and spiritual.
The Ovarian Cancer Connection Provides much needed awareness Of this silent killer by educating Not only the public but Also through important guest speaker programs for medical students as well. The Ovarian Cancer Connection is a wonderful organization that helps those of us dealing with the awful disease. They offer and share opportunities with us to help us to live our best lives. Whether it’s meetings, seminars or social settings they make us the priority. The volunteers know how debilitating and lonely this disease is and with Covid it is even more isolating. I know with confidence that if I need help or have a question, that I can find compassion and understanding. I appreciate the OCC and all the wonderful work they do for those of us dealing with cancer.
I connected with Gini at OCC after a cancer surgery. I had shared with her that I had been let go by my employer. She was so supportive! I felt as if I add someone "on my side". I am traveling for treatment & OCC is helping so much with gas cards. With both my husband & myself off work, for an extended time, it has lifted some of the burden off our shoulders. Thank you SO MUCH GINI AND OCC! YOU ARE SO APPRECIATED!!!!
Gini is such an inspiring and hard working woman! Her work and dedication to the OCC, the women battling ovarian cancer and the survivors is so genuine. She puts so much heart behind the organization. It helps so many women all over the city get through daily life while fighting for their lives. Truly one of the NW Ohios gem non profit organizations
When my wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer they were willing to help us anyway they could without a bunch of hassle.
The help comes just when needed. Several areas of the ovarian cancer connection, is there for many different needs and a multipurpose source in one. If they don't know then they will get back with you on an answer. Thank you Ovarian cancer connection.
I am very proud to be a board member of this fantastic non-profit organization that benefits so many women of NW Ohio and SE Michigan with gynecological cancers. My wife and I were voted in as board members in early 2019 and it's been a very busy fund-raising year so far. We love that 100% of the income goes to this non-profit and all of the volunteers and board members are not paid a cent for their tremendous efforts.
The Ovarian Cancer Connection (OCC) is a grassroots nonprofit organization servicing women diagnosed with ovarian an other gynecologic cancers. All proceeds raised will stay local to support education and awareness programs, and provide financial assistance to women in our community fighting gynecologic cancers. Visit ovarianconnection.org to learn more about the OCC.
I am so proud of this organization. I have a volunteer at many of their events and have watched them grow throughout the years. I've also heard that if anybody needs to get to a doctor's appointment and they cannot get there by their selves that a board member is more than happy to make sure that they get to their appointment
The Ovarian Cancer Connection is run by the most caring individuals around. I was shocked to find out that not one of the members of this organization draws a salary. All of the money they raise goes back to the women in the community that are battling this terrible illness. You don't find that with other non-profits. Genuine, caring people that dedicate their lives and time to helping support local women.
The ovarian Cancer Connection is terrific! The support that they offer to those fighting or who have fought and their families is beyond standard. They go above and beyond what you would expect a non profit to do. Providing help financially , with the help of donations, to patients and families or pointing them in the direction of people who may be able to help and aide them. This organization becomes your family. They will do anything they can to help you.
My cousin has had at least 2 occurances of this horrible disease. She has always been treated with the utmost polteness and care. We have all walked the walk.
I have only been volunteering for the OCC for the past couple years. Once I found out what an awesome connection this group is for women fighting this horrible disease, I was emotionally taken in. Not only do they help women who have been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer but any type of Gynecologic Cancer. It amazes me that all funds raised go directly to help and support the women who have been diagnosed. What an awesome awesome group. Thank you OCC for all you do to help women out.
My experience with OCC has been very rewarding. We provide education, awareness and outreach regarding Ovarian Cancer. I am a survivor, and now a board member and trying to do my part for this organization that serves NW Ohio and SE Michigan.
We are working hard to get the word out to providers, hospitals and outreach centers. We have a financial assistance program that was started about 4 years ago that has been highly utilized for items like gas cards to assist women get to treatment centers. We also help with utilities, medication, food, or other related items,
Our executive director, who was one of the founders has been very passionate about our cause and has provided great leadership. Our board members are also very passionate due to their own experiences with ovarian cancers\, either as survivors, or family members of women who have been affected by ovarian cancer. Our executive director, president and board members volunteer their time to complete the mission of the OCC. They are not paid for their work.
Most recently, we've opened our second location in Fremont, Ohio. It was started by survivors in the local area.
The Charity Navigator program has awarded us a 5 star rating two years in a row as a nonprofit organization. We provide advocacy in Washington DC to obtain funding to continue on with our mission. OCC has many events during the year for fundraising, such as our annual walk, golf tournament, volleyball tournament, and glow bicycle ride. We also have an annual survivor luncheon to get survivors and friends together for an afternoon of food, fun, and relaxation. To provide awareness we "turn the town teal" by placing teal ribbons throughout local communities during the month of September.
I am proud to be a member of this organization- the Ovarian Cancer Connection.

This non-profit has helped so many in our community - most that would have had no where else to turn to. Ovarian Cancer is the silent killer & to have this organization to help is a blessing!!
Every year for the last 10 years I've helped with the walk. I'm amazed every year the number that turn out. I've seen it grow immensely over that time. That may be a sign of a growing problem or maybe it's heightened awareness. Either way its always amazes me the love and care this group of friends and families have fore one another. I know the many things that OCC does for these people. They perform almost miracles for those that need that help. I wish them continued success in their endeavors, Maybe someday with research and cures, the OCC may someday not be needed. Until then the great work of the OCC will provide that much needed help. Kevin
The OCC has brought so much information about ovarian and cervical cancer to our city. Their dedication to the women suffering from this horrible disease is nothing short of amazing. It is truly a humbling experience to volunteer with them.
I have been volunteering with the OCC for many years; mostly with the walk. It is amazing to see the support provided to the survivors and family members. They need that support so much. And support they get ... and not just emotional but also financial. The Board members are such a blessing, they work so diligently and no one takes a salary. A wonderful organization.
I became involved with the OCC after my mom battled this horrible disease. After my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she raised awareness about the disease. She wanted every person to be aware of the signs and symptoms and how to listen to and know your body. OCC allows me to continue to raise awareness and suppprt women and their families with ovarian and other gyn cancers on behalf of my mom's memory.
What a great nonprofit! While some organizations split their profits between salaries, research, and other outlets, the Ovarian Cancer Connection donates all profits to women in NW Ohio who are receiving treatment for Ovarian, Cervical and Gynecological Cancer. With gas cards to get them them to appointments and treatments, or even assistance with bills and phones, the monies that come go directly back into the community we love.
I am so proud to be a board member for the OCC. I became involved because a couple of people close to me were diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Our board is made of up a variety of individuals, survivors, daughter of mothers who have lost their battles, and those who are just deeply passionate about the cause. Our board members are non-paid, active working board members dedicated to raise awareness of ovarian cancer, the early warning signs, and to also support those with the disease. Our financial assistance program has help many ladies with prescriptions, utility bills, and gas cards to get them to and from treatment. It is so rewarding to be able to help these ladies as they are going through probably the most difficult thing in their life. The Ovarian Cancer Connection is truly a great organization with a great mission.
Amazing group!!! They do so much for the woman! The most important thing is the money raised goes directly to help these woman with their care and living expenses. They go out of their way to give them rides and most of all the emotional support is exceptional!
❤️As a volunteer photographer for the Ovarian Cancer Connection events, I have been overwhelmingly amazed and blessed to watch the depth of love, action, passion, and commitment given to each and every woman who is struggling with ovarian cancer and who is a survivor of ovarian cancer by this organization. They are very well known in our community. Physicians and nurses know to reach out to the Ovarian Cancer Connection for their patients. There is not one staff member who receives one penny for the incredible and compassionate work that they do. This is a nonprofit organization that truly reflects the very character of Jesus Christ himself. They give everything and expect nothing in return ❤️
OCC is such a wonderful organization! When in town, I love doing the “walks” in memory of a dear friend and mother who passed way too soon, but left such a beautiful legacy! I always share OCC’s information posts. It’s so important!thank you for all you do for those affected and their families!
This organization is doing amazing things for women who are battling this horrid cancer. I have been going to the walks every year for the past 6 or so years is support of all the wonderful things they are doing to not only support the patients, but the families. Thank you for all the AMZAING work you do everyday!
Ovarian Cancer Connection is an awesome program. They have helped me through some tough times during my ongoing battle with ovarian cancer for almost 3 years. The staff is all volunteers. All monies that are donated 100% stays in NW Ohio, SE Michigan.
The OCC is on the leading edge of research for a cure. Their leaders, including their President, do not take a salary from donations like most organizations. The OCC, like Ovarian Cancer, is a ‘silent’ voice in the noise of more visible organizations and fund raising efforts across the country... yet impacts young and old alike! Join us in the FIGHT to end this silent killer and come out to support the first annual Mary Lou Davis Memorial Glow Roll on August 4, 2018!
When I was at my weakest, Ovarian Cancer Connection was there for me, just like they are for so many women in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan with the same struggles. I have seen so many women helped by this organization in the most important ways possible. They offer financial support when it is most needed. They offer emotional support, awareness and so much more. I have never seen an organization that was more generous and sincere in their efforts! The fact that each staff member is a volunteer is unheard of in our society! 100% of the profits go to assisting those who need it most!
The Ovarian Cancer Connection is a local organization made up completely of unpaid volunteers! Executive Director and all Board Members are just people with big hearts wanting to make life easier on ladies battling gynecologic cancers throughout NW Ohio and SE Michigan.
Awesome organization with volunteers that are passionate about the cause. Their fund-raising events are fun, inspirational and promote education/learning about the impact that ovarian cancer has on the lives of many women.
I have watched over the past 9 years OCC grow and provide assistance to so many women. When I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 35 I did not know where to turn or what to do. The emotional support I received and still receive from this organization keeps me going. We fight to raise awareness and find a cure
This organization is AMAZING. We lost both my Mother and my Sister to Ovarian Cancer so our family has played an active part in the annual walks as well as fund raisers for years. This organization is the most GIVING organization I have ever been connected with and I am proud to be a volunteer every year. From giving gas cards to those who don't have $$ for gas to get to appointments, to helping with utility bills for those who must make the difficult decision to pay for utilities or buy their prescription meds. We volunteer and stay connected because Ovarian Cancer in hopes of someday finding a cure for this ugly disease so our women old and young never have to deal with it. The OCC is an intricate organization of people who truly CARE about others and their quality of life while dealing with this horrible disease and most definitely deserve this FIVE STAR rating.
As I watch this organization work tirelessly to raise funds to provide financial support to ladies battling not only ovarian, but all types of gynological cancers with incredible passion and determination, I am humbled to be a small contributor to the huge impact being made in NW Ohio and SE Michigan. From paying utility bills, medical co-pays, helping navigate resources available -- it is all done by volunteers (NOT 1 PAID STAFF MEMBER) with cheerful and giving hearts. What a great organization!
What a great group of people! I have attended the OCC monthly meetings for several months now and what a support it has been to my recovery. What great joy to hear all the remarkable stories from survivors and what an eye-opening to hear from others who are still struggling. Makes me so thankful that I have been lucky with no returns of cancer. The information that is shared between us is so helpful....ranging from remedies to help with neuropathy to what is available to us such as clinical trials. Hearing about the newest news of the research that is being done and the education out there about Ovarian Cancer is so encouraging to our spirit and our inner strength. Friendships have been made and isn't that what life is all about.....supporting each other and celebrating with each other!
We first became aware of the Ovarian Cancer Connection when our daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The information and support for her and the family was invaluable. They give so much help in the small ways that are sometimes forgotten like transportation to Doctors appointments, help with bills if they need some financial aid and even someone to listen when you need a friendly ear. There is much more that they do, but I think these small personal things do so much to lift the spirits of the people fighting this disease.
The OCC has helped my daughter with many expenses, especially with prescriptions and gas. She got ovarian cancer at the age of 15. Thank god today she is 25. They are a wonderful, selfless organization that so deserves this award!
They are al2ays 2illingbto help a gynecological cancer patient even withbthehe tiniest of things such as a ride to the grocery store! They are mord than willing to step in and help AND all donations gonto help patients not thecsalary of yhe dirdctor who i undrrstand did not take a salqry for over a year!!!!!!!
My friend Wally Kelly battled many years with OC. She lost her battle this past year. I still miss her so. I have pledged to help this wonderful organization. I'd like to have a group of walkers in a "WALK FOR WALLY"
I was SO devastated by the news of my cancer. I have always been health conscious and no one in my family had had cancer. The Ovarian Connection leader, Gini, let me sob my way through my story, never once making me feel like I was a negative person. It was my first chance to share deeply about everything. It changed the life I thought I was LOSING, into the knowledgeable FIGHTER I am today. The cancer has returned two more times in the last two years, she taught me to speak up and take part in my cancer treatment. We found a clinical trial through the U of Michigan that I start next week. I pray it leads to helping younger women in the future. I know OCC will be there. Joanne Arndt
Ovarian Cancer Connection is a loving grass roots group of people who are compassionate on educating women of all ages to be aware of the symptoms to watch for. Early detection is critical and when found early can be treated. The love and support given to those fighting the battle is simply amazing. FIGHTING CANCER is just not about PINK. It's also
about GETTING REAL ABOUT TEAL!
Thank you for all of the services you provided to our daughter during her struggle with ovarian cancer.
Great organization! I volunteered last year at the Ovarian Cancer Race/Walk - it was a humbling experience. I'll be there again this year.
I can not say enough great things about this organization! They have been a godsend to my family and I during this journey that I continue to fight. Very caring, compassionate, and supportive people!
I have been to your walk for the last 4 years. What great work you do for the community. I wish you the best of luck getting the word out there of all the things you do for women with ovarian cancer.
My family could never thank Ovarian Cancer Connection enough for all of their love and support during my moms battle with ovarian cancer. Everyone there is so caring and supportive and truly want to help everyone they can.
The Ovarian Cancer Connection is one of the most generous non-profits that I know of. During my ovarian Cancer treatments they gave me a gas card in efforts to offset some of the cost of getting to and from chemo. Then this year for Christmas I received a gift card for Kroger to help with the purchase of groceries during the holidays. Then they turn our town Teal every year in support of ovarian cancer. This is an awesome group of women that are doing awesome things to help people in need!
This organization goes above and beyond for us urvivors! I truly appreciate all the support, and efforts they go to for us.
This is by far the BEST volunteer experience I've ever had -- and it's all because of the people at the top. Try it -- you'll like it!
This is an extraordinary group with a clear goal of providing support to those battling ovarian cancer, as well as promoting prevention awareness. They are making a lot of noise to bring attention to this silent killer.
The members of the OCC are truly dedicated to spreading the awareness of Ovarian Cancer. I knew little about the disease before coming into contact with the OCC, and since then have actually been able to partake in this process. I have only heard great things from the people they come into contact with, and have loved seeing the way they reach out to survivors. Never have I seen an awareness org. that is so dedicated to their focal group, and the involvement they have with survivors and those currently fighting ovarian cancer is absolutely outstanding. And, the events they put on are not only educational, but fun! They are sincerely in this for the cause, and nothing else.
I just don't know how to thank the OCC for what you have done for me. God has put angels on earth to help people like me. Although my cancer is not curable, I will spread the word around about the wonderful people at the OCC and how they help women in the Toledo area with ovarian cancer.
This is a charity that truly gives back!! They do wonderful things for woman with this disease for example they give them gift cards for food gas etc and they pay there living expenses! Talk about a charity that does good for the woman affected by this disease! With the OCC you really get to see where your money is going!
The Ovarian Cancer Connection truly cares about every woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer. They are dedicated and hard working individuals who makes it their mission to inform women and men about the warning signs of ovarian cancer.
Recently, the OCC received a letter from a local physician who wrote the following.
Since their inception, the OCC has vigorously campaigned for improved awareness and education and their efforts have resulted in earlier detection and prevention of ovarian cancer. I cannot emphasize how valuable the OCC has been in providing education, moral support and financial assistance to countless ovarian cancer patients. With the cooperation of the Ovarian Cancer Connection, Gynecologic Oncologists and oncology research centers, we have the potential to save many more lives in the future. It is my hope that you help support this very important organization.
I am a 20 year ovarian cancer survivor myself and, they are great at reaching out and supporting survivors and those who are going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. OCC provides gas cards, helps with bills or transportation to the doctor office. They are great. They are better than the American Cancer Society.
