I have been involved with Women of Toledo as a board member for the last two years. While I have spent years building affinity groups to help women rise in large corporations, Women of Toledo takes that work many steps further helpI got underserved women reach their potential via economic empowerment. It is quite amazing work to be a part of. From helping a newly divorced woman who has never worked navigate her way to financial stability to creating safe spaces for women to unpack key biases to move towards racial equality, WOT is doing amazing things for the Toledo area.

Being fairly new to the area, when I heard WOT was hosting an event near me I signed up. I’m glad I did. I was able to meet some great women who encouraged me to continue moving forward in my endeavors. Nice to have that support when I’m a new state and starting fresh.

I tell EVERYONE about Women of Toledo. As part of their task team, I have personally seen great transformations happen before my eyes. Before I knew Women of Toledo, I had no idea the resources that could be available in our community. Once I was introduced and met the board and directors, I could just feel the passion come through. Not only have I enjoyed seeing women find themselves, find financial freedom, find their own empowerment and all around help and resources in life, I personally have felt a major shift in my life. The mentorship and resources surrounding this organization are unparalleled and they work tirelessly until they've helped anyone who needs it.

I have had the pleasure of working with Women of Toledo since 2018 as Secretary on the Board of Directors. In this timeframe I have not only been able to work with phenomenal women in our community, but meet them as well. The programming WOT provides is positive and beneficial to women from all backgrounds. I also feel that men have recognized how crucial this organization is and there are amazing allies. Mentorship is key in WOT as well as providing a safe space to participate in various events to learn and grow. WOT is a beacon of inspiration to all in our city and beyond!

Women of Toledo is such a unique organization. I had the privilege of getting connected with WOT through networking. I volunteered to help with a speed mentoring event. It was so incredible to see so many women show up and support eachother personally and professionally. WOT is a place where everyone can feel like they belong.

It truly takes a village and this is what Women of Toledo is. They have incredible opportunities for networking, professional growth and even personal growth. My favorite moment with Women of Toledo was during their vision board workshop and listening to the speakers encourage and lift the spirits up of those that attended the session. It was a great way to kick off the year and to be inspired.

The opportunities Women of Toledo provides to the community is a necessity. Their programming is free or at an affordable price, you’re surrounded by women that will only lift you up and many learning opportunities.

I saw my own struggle in my daughter’s eyes. We both struggled to find our sense of belonging, overcoming bias, and barriers of inequality in our community, marketplace, and workplace- as intersectional, women of color. As much as I believe the organization is helping and serving women in our community, I needed it for myself and my daughter. I’ve been in Toledo 22 years, but it took me 10-15 years to finally call this city home, and that’s why I started Women of Toledo. I didn’t have family here and it was very difficult because I didn’t have that support system. I knew that I needed strong women around me, so I created my own community. Thank you, Women, of Toledo,

I believe in the vision that Women of Toledo is all about. I am concern with the interests that help other women, and interested in supporting & serving.

My contribution to serve is giving my time and talents, treasure and enjoy sharing any knowledge that may be helpful.

I enjoy volunteering and engaging at the many events, such as Mentor for our Speed Mentoring program, Multicultural Gala, Women Empowering Summit, Women Economic Empowerment Power lunch and so much more.
I have met several other ‘SUPERWOMEN’ in the community. Hence, the organization has helped me to expand my personal network.
I commend, “Women of Toledo”, they are most proactive, educating, engaging, empowering group of women that I have ever encountered, I feel very grateful, and do believe that other women will benefit too.
Women of Toledo is intentional in diversity inclusive of women. that is living and giving their Motto: to “Educate, Engage, and Empower”!
The Leadership is Nina Corder, and a phenomenal Team!
