Causes: Ambulatory & Primary Health Care, Children & Youth, Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Health, Human Services, Rehabilitative Care, Youth Development Programs
Mission: Currently, children with special needs are on waiting lists for therapy due to the closings of four local pediatric therapy centers. The Therapy Place, Inc. has not yet opened its doors and already has an allegiance of therapists and parents eager to be a part of the vision to bring a top-notch, family-friendly therapy center to Columbia. Children with cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome and other developmental delays and disabilities are in need of quality services and therapies in our area. The Therapy Place, Inc. will provide traditional pediatric therapies where there is currently a shortage and will also provide therapies not currently offered in our area or state, for which parents (fortunate enough to have the resources to do so) are currently traveling out-of-state to receive for their child. Living in Columbia, SC should not be a barrier to accessing services for children with special needs.
