Mission: Haiti faces unemployment and illiteracy rates of over 60%, and a per capita income of under $500. Initially founded by St. Joseph's Parish, Providence Rhode Island, The Haitian Project is now an independent non-profit organization with the goals of changing Haiti's future through education. It aims to do this by offering students a high quality Catholic education in a physically and spiritually nurturing environment. Our school, called Louverture Cleary, is among the top ten in Haiti and the only of this category to cater to the poor. After graduation, students receive assistance with University and job placement.
