Causes: Child Abuse Prevention, Crime & Law, Domestic Violence
Mission: To provide a continuum of services to child victims of abuse, children at risk of abouse, and their families who are located in northern los angeles county.
Programs: During fye 2016-2017, the children's center of the antelope valley actively pursued its mission, "to promote healing and provide protection from abuse through education and expert care for children and families in the antelope valley" a few of the highlights of the year included the following:- 65 in house group tours highlighting the problem and treatment of child abuse. - 4 outreach events held in conjunction with the city of lancaster at the museum of art and history in honor of child abuse awareness month which incorporated the use of expressive art to reach at risk children. - providing 75 families with gifts ranging from toys to meals through our holiday and love & wishes program. - providing service to 1200 unduplicated clients who completed the dmh therapy and experienced significantly improved outcomes. - providing family preservation services to 350 unduplicated client who completed the family preservation program successfully. - participated in a dcfs demonstration project for rss (relative supportive services) to support kinship, guardianship in palmdale for 567 families. - co-sponsored a holiday jam family holiday extravaganza with av hospital and provided positive family bonding experiences to over 1500 at risk children.
