Joining the program only four weeks ago I’ve already learned so much. The instructors are very inclusive and directional, you ask a question and it will be answered in detail. Being a foster kid often means that the future is uncertain but because of this program I know I’ll have a career and the means to be independent.
A professional and helpful service teaching the youth soft skills and mechanical skills that’ll benefit their future careers in multiple fields.
We found LACP from CNN Heroes.
Now we are sustaining donors and love their continued success in recruiting students and ensuring that the graduating students have a career and jobs.
Proud of what they have accomplished and wish them continued success!
Lost Angels Children's Project is doing the work and doing it well! I have been watching and supporting this organization since I first heard about it in 2019. Not only do they provide an inspiring learning environment for youth they are inspiring to the community and vocational training programs. I am in awe of Aaron and their leadership who humbly share their expertise and knowledge to all enrolled in the LACP program.
Lost Angels Childrens Project is like no other. The learning experience facilitated by this organization gives today's disadvantaged youth a real shot at succeeding in today's crazy world. I would say the Lost Angels is the sole beacon for hope in the Antelope Valley,
This organization is trying to make an impact on youth through workforce development that features intensive job skills training, and true linkage to living wage employment opportunities. Everything they do is focused on empowering youth through employment. Case management and supportive services are geared toward helping youth get and keep a job. It is a blast to watch Aaron build this organization with the team he has assembled. Can't wait to see what the future holds.
This non-profit has helped the youth in the community achieve self-sustainability through vocational training and job placement. They devote their time to getting kids on the right path and a better future.
Working with this group really feels like they care about how their participants are progressing and how they will be able to utilize their skill in the real world. They teach their students to become independent, reliable, driven adults. The skills that LA Children's Project teach, makes our local youth essential to the community, thus helping our valley thrive.
Lost Angels is the absolute best! Aaron along side of his team are just the best people you’ll ever meet. This place not only teaches you a lot but makes you walk away head high and ready for anything.
I have been fortunate enough to have met the Lost Angels Children's Project when I was 16 up until present day as a 20 year old. LACP staff have always been compassionate and more than generous to me from the moment I met them, providing me with something positive to do on my free time and also assisting me when I need it most. They've made me feel like apart of a family and they give me a place of belonging. Nothing but the best to and from LACP.
This nonprofit organization is one of the best places I have ever been, you could learn some much from this place like MIG welding, metal fabrication, automotive work, auto body, composition, and many other cools thing. This place likes to get busy and dirty with full on hand experience, I highly recommend this place.
This non-profit has supported me through high school up until my college years. In high school this youth center provided me with the constructive drive I needed and inspired me to want more. Now in college I am still driven, if not exceptionally more so, because of the Lost Angels after school program. It is amazing what they are doing now, working with older youth, to help those who need the continued support post-after school program. This organization, no matter the avenue they choose to execute their mission, is all about helping the youth and community outreach. They really do change lives, and drive you to want more! Provided is a photo of me and a fellow students (Jr C. , Kash Lombard) in the after school program in high school, in front of the LACP building, sat in the bed of one of their giveaway cars.
This nonprofit has continued to help the community and give back. Empowering the youth to learn skills that will propel them in the future. They continue to do it in a unique way that makes people want to be involved and participate.
First of all this is one of the most amazing foundations I have learned about and found interesting. They do such amazing out reach programs and such positive work to help the youth get educated and get a better education and to be on the right path. Aaron is an amazing person he loves to help kids and to show them the right path to life. He is a very good mentor who wants to help others.
The best thing that’s ever happened to me was coming here ,learning and meeting everyone that makes Lost angeles what it is. They’re the most caring and helping people you will ever meet. The courses they provide are great.LACP will give you that push to become someone better. I thank this place and the amazing wholesome people behind it. Thanks to this place I got the motivation to do something with my life.
Thank you for all your generosity, help and outstanding leadership. We couldn't have done it without you.
Lost Angels Children's Project is truly a unique program. I've never seen a program that offers so much in an area that truly needs it (the Antelope Valley). Aaron Valencia teaches youth how to restore and customize classic cars. The "hook" is great and never fails to get at-risk youth interested. Who doesn't like beautiful custom classic automobiles! Once these kids get in the door, they start to learn all these amazing techniques like welding, fabrication, engine assembly, automotive paint and prep, electrical systems, and even composites. The problem-solving and team-building involved in this program are unparalleled.
Thank you Lost Angels Children's Project! Thank you for the help and the tools to become self sufficient and independent, and most of all thank you for the hope and inspiration.
I have been aware of this 'growing' organization almost since it first started 5 or 6 years ago. Started by one amazing individual who through his own experiences as a youth growing up in a rough environment, with little advantages or opportunities to.
Aaron's goal and mission with LACP is what I was immediately drawn to. When I saw the work they (he) were (was) doing for not only the kids in the community, but also the community itself, I couldn't help but support it. I have proudly been able to financially support LACP and ever since.
The work LACP is doing with the students involved in their program is filling a LARGE gap the school systems in California seem to have discarded as 'unnecessary'. THAT is far from the truth and LACP is proof of that I believe there is a REAL need for this organization and others like it. Not everyone is meant to go to a 'traditional' college, nor should their future depend on it.
The world still needs skilled and well trained tradesmen, natural designers and craftsmen. Those people who learn better in a 'hands-on' environment An environment that will expose them to ideas, encourage those ideas, show them the tools needed to create their ideas and give them plenty of positive reinforcement while doing so.
LACP is truly an organization that can and will use all the support it gets, to directly impact the lives of our next generation. And with that support, hopefully, for many more generations to come.
Graduated student for Lost Angels Children’s project, learned nothing but essential trade skills . Their condensed apprenticeship allowed me to work on multiple projects at once and get a first hand feel for the manufacturing industry . Learned a passion for welding and composite , and allowed us to gain experience and catered our resume to local aerospace companies . Even after graduating , still receiving job opportunities and assistance from the Lost Angels team .
Top rated non profit that I financially support. Lost Angels was built on a love chassis to help at risk youth gain hard skills for employment, become self supporting, become useful members of society, mentors and leaders. Its gives these kids a fighting chance. What other school does that for disenfranchised kids? Founder Aaron Valencia is a good man. Xoxo
This non profit sure has started something amazing. From the background story on the founder, to the custom car giveaways, to the after school program - where does it stop. The founder started from the ground up with a vision to help troubled youth in need and is now working hand in hand with kids to help show them a better path for the future and prepare them to enter the real world. After learning about LACP I wanted to help, I wanted to be part of what was going on, the only way I knew how was to donate and tell other people. I am happy I was able to donate a shop full of tools for the after school work shop they were creating at the time, within this work shop over the course of a year this group builds a custom car, like a 1936 Ford or a 1951 Cadillac for example, while building the car they promote the car build and sell posters of a rendering of the car, each poster purchased gives the person a chance to WIN the car at a car show on labor day weekend in Ventura CA , pretty amazing. The After school program is more than just building the car though, I have attended a few classes to donate my time and what I saw happen was more powerful then any impact I have ever seen on a teenage kid ever. Keep in mind these kids aren't the average blue collar son or daughter, these kids have seen and been thru more than I can imagine (drugs, gangs, foster care, homelessness, abuse) These kids were learning life lessons, they were learning how to deal with issues, problem solving, working with others, using their hands and minds, even little things like reading a tape measure, using common sense to keep safe wile working in a shop and even hold an adult conversation. sooo many things that kids don't learn, especially kids without a adult in their life they can look up to and trust. To top it off these kids have to be accepted and work their way into the program, I think only 15 kids can be entered at a time and they work closely with the local 'Boys and Girls Club'. The kids have to write a letter and explain why they want to join, last I was there he had kids lined up to get accepted and a few older kids setting goals to further their future from something they learned at the shop. The kids in the program also get to go on field trips, like Peterson Automotive Museum, create artwork in the shop and enter into art shows and even learn how to fill out a job application and go thru a job interview for practice. I almost forgot to add the part where JAY LENO even went to the shop to see the car builds, meet the kids and find out what the hype was all about with LACP, I recently saw this on the tv show Jay Lenos Garage, I thought that was pretty cool. I also recently saw that Aaron was nominated for a CNN Hero, very neat to see good people get recognized for their actions. we have to take care of one another somehow.
Aaron - the founder has made a lifestyle out of what he is doing, its what lives and breathes, make sure to look further into what hey are doing at LACP for your self!
