Mission: The arvo foundation's mission is to advance research, to prevent and/or cure blindness, and fund eye research in the areas of highest unmet needs. The foundation will support the mission of arvo.
Programs: Awards and grants - in an effort to keep the next generation of vision scientists and eye researchers abreast of the latest trends and current information, the arvo foundation offers a number of awards to recognize and retain the best and brightest in eye and vision research. The foundation offerings include specialty awards and over 60 travel grants to u. S. And international vision scientists.
programs & events - the arvo foundation organizes fundraising events, as well as programs that help further the careers of eye researchers. In addition, the foundation supports several arvo meetings, events and programs. Programs and events include the arvo foundation and dowling society gala awards ceremony and dinner, women in eye and vision research luncheon and silent auction, arvo/alcon keynote session, and arvo/alcon pizza with the experts.
research fellowships - the arvo foundation provided one contact lens research fellowship. In addition, the foundation offers two age-related macular degeneration (amd) research fellowships: one to a researcher working in basic research in the understanding of amd and another grant to a researcher working in translational amd research focusing on therapeutics.
