Mission: Founded in 2005, Sweet Home New Orleans (SHNO) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the individuals and organizations that perpetuate New Orleans’ unique musical and cultural traditions.

Programs: Social services which consists of case management, including comprehensive needs assessments, financial management counseling, referrals to health care, and other services, and individual planning for long-term sustainability; financial assistance for necessities and emergencies such as relocation, housing, and medical expenses; and advocacy on behalf of our clients for additional resources from our network of partner organizations.
economic development which consists of creating sustainable jobs for artists in local venues; free legal and professional development assistance to empower artists to earn more from their intellectual property and develop business skills; research to help direct the flow of resources in the local music community.
documentation and reporting - each year sweet home produces an annual state of the new orleans music community report.
advocacy events held each year for police practices with musians and mardi gras indians as well as hosting closed door teach-ins around community issues to help support policy changes and cultural organizing.
