When Sones de Mexico was formed in 1994 our dance company, Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago, began teaming up with them because they played the music of Mexico that other musicians did not. Dancing all the regional styles with authentic live music added tremendously to the professionalism of the performances. Sones became the premier Latin band in the area and in 2007 and 2008 it was nominated for a GRAMMY® and a Latin GRAMMY®, for its song " Esta Tierra es Tuya".
