Mission: To improve somerset elementary school by renovating playing fields, upgrading computers and software, providing funds for classroom libraries, and to support educational goals.
Programs: Academic excellence: supports after school academic clubs for additional instruction in math, reading, and writing (including bus service); the purchase of mobile laptops and other technology to support learning in the classroom; additional teacher training; and the purchase of books for students and teachers.
community outreach: foundation also provides grants to help other elementary schools in the mcps system whose students are economically disadvantaged.
school environment: funds used for upgrading of school landscaping and physical playing surfaces to promote a safe environment.
