Mission: The mission of the society for the blind is to empower individuals who are blind or have low vision to live productively and independently by building confidence through training, tools and mentorship.
Programs: In 2014, 5,373 individuals from throughout the sacramento region were assisted by our services and programs; 149 rehabilitation clients received a total of 13,820 hours of blindness instruction; 816 older adults gained increased independence through our senior impact program; 7,741 calls were placed to access news; and 149 youth participated in our youth enrichment program.
