Tax-exempt formed by State Department in order to sole-source the US pavilion assignment for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Embroiled in controversy after the company resigned the engagement, Shanghai Expo 2010, Inc., was saved with Chinese money and later received $61 million in corporate pledges raised by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The pavilion it built was considered overly commercial and panned in the press. A complaint against Shanghai Expo 2010, Inc., was filed with the IRS in 2010. An investigation may be taking place.
