Mission: Shalom serves a vulnerable population - adults with developmental
Programs: Shalom provides residential extended-family homes for 40 residents and their care-provider families including state-licensed adult foster care and independent supported living for men and women. These christ- centered homes provide encouragement, love and structure. Residents become part of the shalom community which allows them to participate in many social and support opportunities.
shalom provided a summer camp experience fo 36 adults with disabilities in partnership with 22 community chaperones and staff. This four-day stay at camp michawana in hastings, mi, was full of fun, fellowship and activity. We stayed in the lodge and cabins, received camp t-shirts, ate in the camp cafeteria, swam, climbed the rock wall, played human table hockey, challenged ourselves on the zip line, and went to portage airway fun. We enjoyed laser tag, bumper cars, miniature golf, ropes courses,
each week, 38 individuals productively participate in our farm, woolery and thrift store operations. Woolery participants work together in teams to skirt and wash wool, run several machines, weave on looms and make dryer balls and cat toys while enjoying a supportive and safe atmosphere. Farm participants work with sheep, goats, cats, chickens and alpaca while experiencing gardening and other year-round projects(gathering eggs and caring for rabbits).
