Mission: To nurture musical, educational and artistic growth of individual musicians, to encourage women to become involved in jazz performance and composition as a career or avocation and to foster community interest in and appreciation of jazz as an art form.
Programs: May 6th-performed with special guest christine jensen at the world premier of her newest composition at the shorewood performing arts center. The seattle women's jazz orchestra received a national endowment for the arts grant to commission this new composition.
october 25th, concert at the shorewood performing arts center that was part of the earshot jazz festival with special guest jazz drummer sherrie maricle. The contest winning and runner up compositions were performed.
various performances at concerts that benefit the general public including: august 5th-performed at the anacortes arts festival and august 10-participated in the highly popular out to lunch summer concert series located at seattle city hall plaza.
