Mission: Seattle neighborhood group's mission is to prevent crime and build community through partnerships with residents, businesses, law enforcement and other organizations. We envision crime-free communities where people work together to solve problems, children play without fear and businesses thrive.
Programs: Outcomes of our programs are connecting people to their communities, reduced crime, increased guardianship and providing access to community services and activities. We work to reduce the specific community risk factors of community disorganization; perceived availability of drugs and firearms; and laws and norms favorable to drug use. We also work to strengthen the protective factor of neighborhood attachment. Strategies and programs are in four areas: 1) community support: hotspot organizing, volunteer recognition, administration, community clean-ups, meeting notification, 2) community education and information: landlord training, take action training, cpted surveys, legislative bulletins, city budget forums, website, meth education, printed and translated crime prevention materials,3) direct services: housing and treatment services provided to homeless drug-involved people involved in low-level criminal activity in hotspot areas with aim of reducing criminal involvement, 4) fiscal agency and fiscal sponsorship services.
