I met Andy through a face book post about Winston; a 16 year old blind and deaf dog left at a shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. Andy posted he would take Winston in a heartbeat if Winston wasn't so far away. Andy lives in Missouri. Winston was in South Florida. I live in Florida so I adopted Winston and transported him to Andy's ranch a few weeks later on a trip I took to Illinois. That is when I started following his rescue. Andy's heart for animals is huge. If I published a dictionary, in the definition of dog lover you would find a picture of Andy. Andy takes in the seniors nobody wants like Winston. He also takes in dogs with medial issues such as neurological disabilities; paralysis; heart worms, and a host of other medical problems that people don't want to deal with or can not afford to get treatment for. Thor (The Schnauzer Ranch And Friends mascot) is one of those medical issues, his back legs are paralyzed and he is incontinent. Andy also takes in behavioral problems like Lewis who was so abused that every time Andy touched him he would run across the room and scream. It took a year for Lewis to come around. Andy doesn't give up on these precious souls. If they are not adoptable they stay with Andy or one of the fosters for the rest of their lives. Andy does monthly transports to Texas where he picks up between 10-18 dogs and takes them back to the ranch in Missouri. These dogs are pulled from high kill shelters. The dogs come in one day and must be tagged and gotten out the next day or they die. Andy's rescue takes in hundreds of dogs a year and works diligently to find the best homes for them. In addition to saving dogs the rescue helps several people with their animal's medical bills; food; and medications, so they can keep their animal friends. It's never ending. As I am writing this essay, the rescue just took in 25 dogs from El Paso Texas, and have another 30 dogs at a kennel in Los Fresnos Texas waiting to be transported to the ranch. There is one director and two co-directors. Andy (director in Missouri) and Marcia Welton (co-director in Texas) both work full time and devote huge amounts of their free time to saving animals. At any one time Andy will have up to forty dogs at the ranch, many with very costly medical issues. The other co-director (Susan Wright) is always at the ranch caring for the animals Their love and concern for our canine brothers and sisters is the reason I choose to support them.
All I can tell you is that they were very nasty on the telephone and on social media.
The main contact (older female rhymes with Randy) acted like FBI interrogator asking questions that fall into the "none of your business" category, and wouldn't let me explain why I would make a great adoptee.
Facebook messages back and forth ended with "go F*** yourself" from this person.
We have been approved by multiple organizations. Since they didn't have schnauzers at this time, we reached out to this group.
Other rescue groups did confirm that the person to whom I was speaking is very rude to others, and makes the adoption process difficult. One contact was from her hometown. So perhaps some self reflection is in order.
How they can judge me, then in their own Facebook posts say they have 26 schnauzers and work full time jobs is beyond the pale. They can't be giving the kind of attention that is needed for all these dogs, and they wouldn't even qualify for adopting themselves.
I contacted this rescue via email with a couple quick questions about a dog. They replied back to me with only screenshots of the Petfinder page that I had already viewed. The screenshots didn’t even contain answers to my questions. I then asked if the pup was potty trained. Their response to my question didn’t include an answer again and was passive aggressively telling me to pick up my phone and call them. I then go on Facebook to do a little more research on this rescue and discover that they posted screenshots of my email conversation with them. For some reason they are under the impression that I wanted to adopt a dog without ever talking over the phone or meeting in person. I simply emailed them a couple quick questions I had because I was at work and unable to make a call. I don’t understand why they post their email as a method of communication if they can’t answer any questions and if they get upset with you for sending a couple emails with basic questions.
Very unhelpful, unprofessional, and unfriendly!
They are what All rescues should be. They don't just take in the "highly " adoptable. They save the old, the special needs, the troubled and those other rescues won't take. That is the true meaning of rescue.
The Schnauzer Ranch is a fantastic non profit rescue for In need schnauzers an there Friends! They do not discriminate if they are sick or injured they help them all at any stage of there life! The really care! ❤️
Andy and the Ranch are amazing. They take in the unwanted, the sick ,old, injured.... they love these animals, vet them and make them know love and caring.
Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc is a great rescue. Andy works so hard at making sure all the rescues are seen by the vet, fed well, and loving each one.
Andy is so caring and kind with the Schnauzers he cares for. He makes sure they're seen by a veterinarian, well fed and placed in loving homes. Any animal would be blessed to have a moment in his hands.
The Schnauzer Ranch and Friends is a great rescue! I love that they help a lot of seniors and disabled dogs.
Schnauzer Ranch & Friends INC,
the Best Rescue they take in all the ones no one wants, they care for them all with Love and medical care they deserve more then we could ever give them, they need more help. I love this Rescue, because not only are the dogs Rescued, they are Very Well taken care of the most important thing They are all LOVED!!!
I have always been so impressed that this rescue group takes in the dogs that are overlooked...they love them and give them a home and a chance! We all love their work!!! Keep it up
Andy Politte Schnauzer Ranch and Friends is an outstanding rescue. I am a Schnauzer owner and lover. Andy Politte Schnauzer Ranch and Friends are why I am involved in rescue. Seeing how they take in the most lost cases, transforming them into loving, spoiled rotten, wonderful furbabies inspired me to work with a local group who rescue all breeds. I have been able to find homes for 16 precious dogs, due to Andy Politte example of loving care. They put their heart and soul, and all of their money into getting these unwanted, old, broken, neglected, abused animals, and showing them what true love and care is. Whether it is for one day or ten years, they give them love until they can find the perfect home, or cross the rainbow bridge. They drive all over to rescue them or take them to their new homes. Andy Politte is a shining example of what more people should be.
WONDERFUL rescue group for schnauzers and other dogs in need!! COMPASSIONATE care given to all!! This group goes above and beyond to provide for the needs of these neglected dogs.
Without the resources of rescues such as Schnauzer Ranch and Friends ... there would be much less joy in the world.
The Schnauzer Ranch is and awesome rescue. They help every Schnauzer in need that they can but they are a true rescue helping other breeds in their time of need. They really stepped up during Hurricane Harvey and helped out overloaded rescues any way they could.
Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc. truly cares about not only animals but also their humans. They will go to great lengths for both!
This organization is the best and truly most caring and dedicated rescue. They help the helpless and give them the love these dogs deserve! Andy helped me when my parents passed and left elderly dogs with health issues to me to care for. I had other animals I rescued of my own and I wasn’t able to take care of them properly so these loving people stepped in and cared for my parents babies until they passed. The Schnauzer Ranch is so worthwhile to donate to.
To say this rescue far exceeds expectations is an understatement. Andy, Susan and the entire family dedicate their entire lives to the Schnauzer breed and beyond. Andy has driven to the ends of the earth to rescue those in need. Never a more deserving group to win. Pictured below is one of his rescues, Dusty. Andy's rescue paid for all the necessary procedures and grooming to make this poor baby feel better only to discover he had a brain tumor and had to cross the bridge. There are no limits or boundaries as far as Andy is concerned. He is 110% all in. Love this guy to the moon and back. I have told him that when I grow up I want to be just like him.
I've been involved with this wonderful organization since it's conception.
They do magnificent work caring for the the seniors the ones that have major health issues physical impairments
“The Ranch” not only saves the life’s of our 4 pups, their actions in turn have positivity changes the life’s of humans as well..
The late Vincent Phillip passed away in April 2015 I swore no more dogs, can’t do it anymore. Within a month I asked Andy to show me photos of 3 schnauzers at which time I’d choose. That I did. In June 2015 Bernadette and I took a road trip from Florida to The Ranch to pick up my boy Salvador Peter who last a wonderful handsome boy that fills my heart everyday. To all those involved with caring for and loving these kids deserve all the praise in the world.

It gives me great pleasure in writing a testimony lifting the " Andy Politte Schnauzer Ranch" and Marcia Welton to the highest standards exceeding my expectations.
Late 2014 I added Andy Politte Schnauzer Ranch and Marcia to my friend group on Facebook, April 2015 I lost a Schnauzer due to a combination of age and illness. Of course as all Schnauzer loves do, I posted my loss to the page. I was torn about getting another Marcia sent her condolences as did Andy did as well as countless others. Weeks went by, I was missing Vincent more and more everyday. Being I was receiving a severance from my employer I had the time but not the funds at the time. While contemplating do I or don't get another. Well once a Schnauzer lover always a lover. I messaged Andy asked to send me photos of 3 Schnauzers I can choose from. Puff.. I choose "Boston" who Marcia rescued in Texas and Andy relocated him to Missouri. Weeks later I got the funds together, rented a car, Bernadette (a Schnauzer I had with Vincent) and I took a road trip from Jacksonville Florida to Bonne Terra, Missouri the end of June..
Bernadette and I arrived on the 27th. I was welcomed by many mustaches, pointed and floppy ears with plenty of Schnauzer barks.. I was in heaven.
"Boston" was renamed to Salvador. The 3 of us continued on our road trip of 5100 miles. We returned to Jacksonville, we all settled in within a week. Today Salvador is just as wonderful as the other Schnauzers I've adopted, 7 in total.
When I returned to Florida, I forwarded a link of The Ranch to a friend of mine, she was so impressed in turn she asked me for the address of The Ranch to send a donation which she did in honor of Salvador to thank all those involved with The Ranch.
Months later I fell on hard times as I injured myself on the job and couldn't work. While Workers Compensation takes forever to sort out, I reached out to Andy for assistance, in turn he was extremely generous purchased multiple large bags of food and a brush. Weeks later I personally was low on funds I reached out to Marcia who also was gracious and sent me a $300 check, and offered me more weeks later to ensure I and the kids were ok.. On top of the food, cash and the brush, Andy also offered and insisted he take care of Salvador and Bernadette's next haircut.
After realizing I will never be the same again I filed for Social Security Disability which can take years to resolve. As of today it's been about 2 years and counting. My days are very routine and Salvador and Bernadette both know what our days are like; spending the day together as a family, waiting for Social Security to be approved so that I may head back to Missouri or even Texas for a third.
I was thrilled writhing the testimony on behalf on The Ranch and Marcia Welton. I am blessed to know them and have them in our lives. Should there be any questions I may answer, please feel free to contact me directly.
Respectfully yours,
Steven Rosenberg
I live in Michigan but follow this non-profit on facebook. I love watching the videos which are sometimes. I have owned several schnauzers and am impressed with the compassion and persistence of this organization. I would rate it as ten stars if you offered that option
Such a great organization. Their compassion and care is beyond the norm. I first got interested in this group by FB postings about a little disabled dog they rescued named Thor. I love this group and will continue to support.
Andy and everyone involved at the Schnauzer Ranch really has gotten my heart because they do a wonderful job with all the dogs all the rescues the transportation and I've tried to help when I can and it does good to see how awesome they are with these babies that are neglected nobody wants or too old you know treat them the way they need to be treated and love them and take care of them haircuts Marshall Welton also does an awesome job you know for them with the transportation and the care of the dogs she has a genuine passion and he does too everybody involved has a passion for these these little schnauzers. It is such a great rescue if I was to have to give up any animal of mine to the Schnauzer Ranch I wouldn't have no worries that they would be taken well care of
Andy and Susan, Marcia and Tara are all awesome and their tireless dedication to the ranch and to the rescue networks makes them angels in my book...the ranch is home to many dogs some permanent like Thor
Compassionate organization! Helps to save those with numerous problems and never gives up on a fur baby. So appreciated what they do!
I have always had a passion for helping animals but had gotten in with some not so legit rescues that were not really having the best interest of the animals at heart . Then I found the schnauzer ranch, I have never known such compassion for animals (and people)existed in this capacity until I met Andy, Marcia, Susan and the other volunteers and rescuers for the ranch. Andy and the rest go above and beyond for people and their fur babies, I have such admiration for them all!!
love the work Andy and staff do to help those wonderful little schnauzers!Especially fond of Thor!Keep up the good work Schnauzer Ranch!
Andy Politte, Susan Wright, Marcia Welton and the Schnauzer Ranch are amazing!! They all work so hard to help as many Schnauzers and other pups as they can. Andy works a full time job and uses every spare minute to focus on his rescues, spending personal funds to get the neglected, lame, sick and injured pups the attention they need and deserve. He makes runs hours away to Texas and neighboring States on his days off and takes the ones that are ready for furever homes to adoption events. He often keeps senior rescues as permenant residents because of their health issues, too often facing the heartache of losing them. The Schnauzer Ranch is a God send and I personally wish I could do more to help!!
Andy is one of the most amazing people you will find in the dog rescue world! His generosity, love and compassion for these dogs know no bounds. He deserves nothing but good for his rescue.
Schnauzer Ranch & Friends is such a wondeful operation!! They take in some of the most helpless of the helpless and love them so well with such great and tender care! They cannot do it totally alone, but I am sure if the need comes, they give the shirts off their backs putting someone’s discarded dog first, making them a beloved pet and member of an extended family! It is with great joy and much humility I support such a wonderful group of people with donations!
I have been following the Schnauzer Ranch for almost 2 years. I'm so impressed with the Ranch, how they take in the injured schnauzers and their friends. They never turn down a dog because of being old, if it's injuries are life threatening or permanent. If needed Andy keeps the dog at the Ranch until they cross the Rainbow Bridge. They have fund raising auctions and have people who donate time, money and/or both. Andy and Marcia have both stepped up to help people who needed help with food or money to keep their own dogs.
Andy travels to Texas and pulls dogs from high kill shelters and transports them back to the Ranch in Missouri to be vetted. Susan is always with the dogs. Her care and compassion is so overwhelming. Marcia is the co-director. They find furever homes for all of the dogs that can be adopted.
I have been a miniature schnauzer owner for quite some time. I got more involved with rescues after rescuing my current mini schnauzer Moe.
I don't donate to many organizations but the Schnauzer Ranch almost stands alone in that group. I love to partake in the fund raising auctions as it's all about the schnauzers! And at times, I am able to donate to the Ranch for whatever is needed.
I wish all rescues were as top notched as The Schnauzer Ranch. They all could learn alot about compassion to say the least!! Thank you to Andy and your team for what and how you do it!!!
This rescue has done so much for mini schnauzers to help with their well being by doing auctions and other ways to pay for medical treatment. Which gives these cute schnauzers a fighting chance, it also promotes schnauzers that are in need of adoption from puppies to seniors. They want to make sure also schnauzers find their forever homes.
I was the best friend and parent of a black Mini Schnauzer named Winona. We lost her last year to age (16) and Cushings. She is my heart. I got her as a puppy, and she looked into my eyes and stole my heart. Although Andy helped me too with Winona, our affiliation began with Gracie.
One day I saw a photo of a beautiful emaciated salt and pepper Schnauzer on Facebook. It was followed by the impassioned plea of a Vet Tech who had been told Gracie's time was up-- they needed her bed. I pm'ed her and she told me that some people kept reporting a feral Schnauzer living in some woods, a ball of brambles, barely recognizeable as the breed. People had tried to catch her but she was too fast. Then there were people who reported her existence but had no intention of helping this "scary dog who might have rabies." One day a man who'd seen her many times sound her beside the road unmoving but alive. He brought her to the Vet where they shaved off Six inches of fur, brambles, dirt, and twigs, pulled some teeth, and removed two large fatty tumors that were making it hard for her to walk. They left three large fatty tumors behind that weren't impeding her movement. The Vet had had her for a month but abruptly, her time was up. Unbeknownst to them, the Tech had posted the picture and the short impassioned plea. We messaged each other and I told her I would be in before 9 am to adopt her the following day.
When my daughter and I went in, it was our Vet Tech's day off and they were stunned when we told them we were there for the as yet unnamed Salt and Pepper Schnauzer. They told us her story, said she'd been reported living in the woods for three years and was feral and peed in her crate. And was blind, deaf, and bit hard in spite of having a mostly gummy bite, and we couldn't touch her so there was no way to get her into the car. I asked about heartworm and rabies and said I wanted her tested as she was going home with us. They spent a rough hour testing and vaccinating her and brought her out trembling on a leash, occasionally bucking like a horse. She was adorable. Again they told us her story , reiterating the "feral and pees in her crate" part, wringing their hands about how to get her into my VW. Sarah looked at them in exasperation and said to me, "I'll drive, you hold her." I got into the car and Sarah scooped her up, walked across the parking lot , stopped and asked,"what do you call her?" They said, "Gracie." We smiled and repeated "Gracie," which was my Grandmother's name and Sarah's middle name. Sarah put her in my arms with a fuzzy blanket we brought, and they were still agape as we drove off. They had waived her adoption fee.
I took her to my Vet and he said he'd remove the tumors but she had to be very old, and she had bit him, and he couldn't see much of a future for her. My heart was broken. No special diet... he just said to feed her whatever she wanted and see if she took pleasure out of it.
Our other dogs checked her out, Winona established dominance, and Gracie was ours. Her vision was very limited, but she was profoundly deaf-- no doubt caused by three years unsheltered with expertly cropped ears. We'd take her outside and she'd furiously gnaw the roots of the grass and we realized she was eating bugs like there was no tomorrow!! This stopped after two weeks.
I have been following the schnauzer ranch for over a year now. I am very discriminatory about who I donate funds too and support. I applaud all they do for the animals. The time and dedication this organization gives to the dogs is above and beyond most rescues capabilities. I highly recommend them for this award and your support.
All ways heartwarming stories from the Schnauzer Ranch of recued dogs and getting them medical help and loving care and a home . The looks in the dogs eyes when they first come to the Ranch have sorrow in them and later they look well cared for and have happiness in there eyes .
I have been following The Ranch for sometime now. I am in awe of their ability to save so many precious lives while maintaining their own personal jobs. The thing I love most, they do not discriminate; young, old, healthy, sick, hospice, mix, not a Schnauzer, that's ok, too. My passion is the seniors. God Bless The Ranch for having that same passion. This rescue deserves it all.
love keeping up with Schnauzer Ranch as they are my favorite breed and I’m so very thankful for the time and love you give them, thank you for all the hard work ❤️
I have watched from New Zealand the work that Andy and the team at The Schnauzer Ranch do and am in awe of them.
They save dogs that are to be euthanized, dogs that are disabled, young and old, they also help people keep their companion animals by helping with food and vet bills, when for reasons that are out of their control mean a change to their circumstances.
They pick up the pieces for these beautiful animals when other humans have abandoned them, hurt and maimed them, and thrown them out because they do not have an ounce of compassion in their bodies.
Schnauzer Ranch changes the lives of these dogs, and gives them the opportunity to learn to love again and be loved.
I have seen everything the schnauzer ranch has done for 2+ years now. They are such great people who go to great lengths to help a furry friend in need. They work so hard, and fight without through the good times and bad they do whatever they can to save lives. Every penny they make goes to animals they barely meet. Never in my life have I seen such good people. Thank you for all you do, and the lives you save. You are more appreciated than you know.
Andy at Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc has helped me place more than one special needs senior dog. Andy and Susan even took the time to drive quite a distance to meet me to get the dogs since they aren't in my area. These wonderful people share my passion for helping dogs in need, and I consider them friends.
I found the Schnauzer Ranch & Friends by chance some would say. I believe it was God calling me to do what he intended me today. I was driving from my home state of Michigan after spending a few weeks visiting family, to Texas where I now live. I suddenly had an “ idea” that just maybe an animal needed transport. I have no idea why, I’ve never transported an animal and had never even thought or considered it. However, I’m a prod Schnauzer Mom and have a love for all animals. So, I searched and joined a transport page. There on the page I instantly saw a Schnauzer that was at Schnauzer Ranch who needed to get back to Texas to his foster mom, Marcia( co -director) She had fostered Klause and got him to Andy(Owner/Director) in Missouri so he could be vetted and find his forever home. However, Klause had other plans. He missed his foster Mom so much that her wasn’t eating and was declining quickly. They decided that Klause needed to get back to Marcia right away. That’s where my daughters and I came in. We met Andy a few hours later and wecomed Klause to our journey to Texas. He was so sad and no matter how much love, snuggles, treats and reassurance we gave him, he just would cheer up. His little heart was sooo broken that it brought my daughters and I to tears several times. We know how happy and sweet Schnauzers usually are. After a long drive and a night of good rest we pulled into Marcia’s driveway. The moment Klause saw and heard Marcia he transformed into the happiest dog I’ve ver seen. I couldn’t believe my eyes. For two days this little guy was just there with out a single tail wag...nothing! Now he was jumping, barking and running with his pack of friends again! Klause was HOME! Andy and Marcia knew and understood exactly what he needed! Witnesses this pure joy first hand has brought me many tears but it also opened my heart to helping other dogs. Our family has always volunteered at shelters but now we volunteer transport whenever we can. We even rescued a pup who was going to be euthanized in Houston for having a broken leg. That was in July and she’s still with us healing ( kennel cough, heart worming+, breast cancer, scattered pelvis and having another growth removed from another tet next week) I think she and Klause have spoken and she plans on staying with us! lol Schnauzer Ranch is an AMAZING place run by the best of the best! They take on all the little souls that other rescues turn away. The love here is real and deep!
I first came upon the Schnauzer Ranch and Friends when Andy brought home Thor for all of us to love and watch grow into a happy boy who was now able to feel more like the others with his new wheelchair! As time passed and Andy and Susan brought many more dogs into their home and gave them the care we wish we all could I really become involved with helping raise funds for this amazing organization. A few years later we welcomed Brody into our home which we adopted from the Schnauzer Ranch. Andy could not have helped us pick out a better fit for this little boy with our family!
I was introduced to Schnauzer Ranch & friends as I had a blind Schnauzer and had bought a “muffins halo” for her. But she was too stubborn and I could not make it work. Another acquaintance suggested donating it to Schnauzer Ranch, which I did. I have followed the Ranch was very since. I must say they are great people. If you have read the reviews, I can not add much, They make runs to bring dogs in from Texas. They rescue and take in some of the worst cases. From Thor, the young dog with paralyzed hindquarters to the many seniors, to many’s dogs, irregardless of the breed, who had seen the worse in life. Andy and Marsha loved and cared for many some of who only stayed for a short visit, but they were loved. .Thor was a lucky little boy when Andy found him, not many people would have taken on the challenge and not only did the Ranch step up to it, they made him into a “ celebrity”. If something were to happen to me, I would hope my boy would finds his way to Andy.
Not many would take on a paralyzed and incontinent dog (Thor) and by sharing his story gain many "friends". Saving Thor and giving him a great life has made me a supporter. They have also inspired me so when we are in the market for another schnauzer rescue...I want a medically needy one. What a great rescue!!
I am an artist and love drawing animals. I have donated several items to the Schnauzer Ranch and Friends, Inc, rescue organization because I LOVE what they do for animals. I am selective about choosing which animal organizations I donate to as well. This organization is on the TOP of my list to help when I can. They are wonderful, giving of their time and compassionate to all animals. They are so worthy of this wonderful benefit your are rewarding. KUDOS to all the people and volunteers that I enjoy working with. Best of luck. ~ Kathleen Heiner Stemler, Kathleen's Art Creations.
This is a rescue that I trust 100%. They are wonderful people that truly love & take care of the dogs.
I love them!!
This is such a great rescue. Andy (Director) and Marcia (Co-director) both work full time but give huge amounts of their free time to helping animals. They put all their hearts and a whole lot of their own money into helping these precious animals. They don't discriminate they take in the worst cases as well as the best, and they don't give up on them. Donating to them and giving them this review is my pleasure. The photo is a picture of Thor their mascot who is paralyzed and incontinent and who is loved by many.
The Schnauzer Ranch is a awesome organization that saves many animals from a variety of situations no animal is turned away even ones with special needs I couldn't think of a better organization to support ..
My first experience with Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc. happened when I noticed a darling little paraplegic miniature schnauzer, only a year old, posted in emergency for rescue at BARC animal services in Houston, TX, a kill shelter. I immediately became concerned and wanted to help, because I own and care for a paraplegic miniature schnauzer and disabled dogs are my heart. But I live in FL, and although my dad lives in Houston, TX, I would not be able to get to him to rescue him in time, so I was at a loss for what to do. I contacted local rescues. One did pull him, but realized they were not up to the task of caring for such a dog that had special needs, and called out for any rescue to help with this dog, as his foster could only keep him a limited time. I reached out to that rescue and said I knew a FL rescue that would take him and I would foster, but we had to try to arrange a transport. Then they informed me that Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc had stepped up to save the schnauzer, and was on their way to pick him up as we were speaking! I was surprised. Very few rescues take on a paraplegic dog, and even fewer still that don't specialize in disabled dog rescue, but this rescue believed in this dog, that he deserved a second chance at life and living and immediately came to his rescue when called. They ended up naming him Thor, and although Thor's paralysis is irreversible like my schnauzer's, they got him a cart, and he became a loving member of the rest of the pack at the ranch. I contacted Andy at the Ranch to see if I could offer any advice, having cared for my own paraplegic schnauzer for several years by then and also to offer my many thanks for rescuing him, and I was so impressed with how quickly they learned to care for a dog with special needs like Thor, how committed they were to giving him the best life, and how much they loved him already. So I knew he was in the place he was meant to be, even though, I would have loved to have another paraplegic schnauzer, as my heart has been with disabled dogs ever since rescuing my first one, born with a congenital malformation of the spine, causing paralysis in her hind end. So I'm so glad the Ranch has Thor and takes the worst cases of dogs consistently, the oldest dogs that all rescues refuse, consistently, and any dog that needs rescuing. They really rescue every dog they can and it doesn't matter how old, how sick, how cute, how healthy, or how friendly the dog is. They are the real deal in rescue, and have saved many lives and many schnauzers and made any schnauzers who were too old to adopt out, the best years of their lives. I cannot say enough good things about this rescue, and I urge everyone to help and support them and adopt from them as well.
I am happy to support Schnauzer Ranch and friends. They help Miniature Schnauzers and all their friends as they can. They have top notch fosters who care for and love their furbabies until they can find a home and if they cannot , they keep them to the end of their lives keeping them safe and happy. Such is the case of Frida who at 13 years of age, lost her home when her mom in her 90’s passed away and her daughter felt she could not care for her. Marcia has been Fridas foster Mom trying to make sure she is loved. I was willing to take her to my home in AZ until we found out that Frida is now too delicate to travel as she has been diagnosed as terminal. I cry for her every day but happy that she will be loved and supported by Schnauzer Ranch and Friends. I will love you forever Frida and grateful to Schnauzer Ranch for being her angel on earth. One great rescue! Thank you!
The Schnauzer Ranch and Friends ran by Andy Polite, Susan Wright and Marcia Welton. Gave my family the pleasure of welcoming Flower a 2 year old Schnauzer into our home in July of 2017. These people and their love for helping has saved many furbabies. And brought them either to the Ranch to live out their days and be loved. Or have done what the shelters couldn't do and placed these loving furbabies into their forever homes. Please donate and help this rescue to rescue more furbabies.
Thank you
I have been following and have been friends with this rescue group for the past year, and I have such respect and admiration for them. It is all about the animals, and Andy Politte has dedicated his life to helping animals in need. I have never seen this Rescue ask for help, financially, when others are always requesting assistance. The most beautiful rescue story that has defined this organization was of Thor, a little Schnauzer born with a severe disability, who Andy Politte rescued and gave the precious little guy a chance to live. He has become a beloved part of their family. I am so privileged to know and watch their contributions to the world where animals are discarded and abused. This rescue gives one hope in a sometimes hopeless world.
Andy Politte and his volunteers at Schnauzer Ranch & Friends has been a beacon of hope for many four footed friends who have been left behind. At the ranch, they receive the love and care they deserve. Many dogs have been spared from an unnecessary death because of the Ranch's generosity of compassion. I follow the Ranch's Facebook posts and am always so amazed at all the good they do. I am so thankful that there are such caring people among us like them to help the helpless and in some cases, the hopeless.
I’m very happy to say that I’ve never seen a more loving compassionate merciful Dog rescue than Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc, they take in even the saddest and seniors regardless of situations traveling across the country to pick them up, and it’s not about how much money they can take in for those rescues (which I’ve seen with other rescues, other rescues won’t even help you find a home for a stray you find, because they can’t ask for funds for your rescue so they don’t even respond to you for help)
Schnauzer Ranch & Friends Inc is absolutely thumbs up
The folks at The Schnauzer Ranch are such wonderful people. In addition to saving dogs that are euthanasia listed, disabled, young and old, they also help people to be able to keep their companion animals by helping with food and vet bills. I too met Andy and friends through an old dog named Winston. The poor old boy was blind and deaf and Andy took him in and gave him all the love in the world. Andy loves them all but has a special heart for the old and disabled.
A lady who fosters dogs for a rescue in St. Louis had a dog that kept escaping her fence and she was afraid to foster anymore dogs because her fence was old, falling down and just not secure. Andy Politte heard about her fence and offered to help. He rented an auger and proceeded to drill thru old bricks, chunks of concrete in the freezing cold to get holes made to get her a fence. His unselfish act will ensure that she can continue to foster dogs in crisis and save lots of lives. His non profit is worth donating to because of the people he helps.
Several years ago in Garland, Texas a senior schnauzer who was severely matted and was considered a biter was posted on a code red list and only had a few days to live. One of the members on a group I belonged to said she looks like my lucky I just lost I will take her. That's when I met Andy Politte with The schnauzer Ranch and friends. Andy said he would come to Texas and take Lucy, that's what we named her. to Indiana to Nicole the lady who wanted her. So off I went to Garland to get lucy. Lucy tried to bite me when I got her because she was so afraid. Once in my home the biting stopped and the love began! A couple weeks later Andy came to Texas and got Lucy and took her to Indiana. Andy drives many miles to get dogs to potential owners. This is where it all began. Andy and I joined forces to save as many dogs as we can. We save many with medical issues. There is not a kinder sole than Andy Politte!
Last year my sweet female schnauzer has a grass seed embedded in her paw. She was in pain and I came to learn that these can actually cause serious problems. This couldn't have come at a worse time. I am a single mom with absolutely no help from my daughter's father and I work full time while putting myself through college as well. She needed a procedure and since I had just received a very large electric bill and other problems had come up, I didn't know what to do. Marcia Welton and Andy Politte jumped in to save the day so my baby wouldn't suffer. They paid for Fowler's surgery and all the medications and bandaging she would need.
This really made me want to become even more involved in the rescue and I have since become an advocate for them and help as much as I am able with things like transporting, networking, the dogs and assisting with fund raising for the rescue. They do so much for so many people and dogs. Helping pay vet bills for people like myself who are in need, taking in seniors and special needs dogs that otherwise would be overlooked by other rescues and so much more.

The Schnauzer Ranch in Bonnie Terre, MO has been a tremendous help to me over the past year with outstanding vet bills for my Schnauzer. They donated funds and helped with additional fundraisers to help me try to save my dogs life. My income didn't allow me to help her like she needed and that's when the Ranch stepped in to help. Unfortunately my Schnauzer passed away on Thanksgiving but with the Ranches help, she was with me for 9 months longer than I thought she would be.
Thank you
