Last year my sweet female schnauzer has a grass seed embedded in her paw. She was in pain and I came to learn that these can actually cause serious problems. This couldn't have come at a worse time. I am a single mom with absolutely no help from my daughter's father and I work full time while putting myself through college as well. She needed a procedure and since I had just received a very large electric bill and other problems had come up, I didn't know what to do. Marcia Welton and Andy Politte jumped in to save the day so my baby wouldn't suffer. They paid for Fowler's surgery and all the medications and bandaging she would need.
This really made me want to become even more involved in the rescue and I have since become an advocate for them and help as much as I am able with things like transporting, networking, the dogs and assisting with fund raising for the rescue. They do so much for so many people and dogs. Helping pay vet bills for people like myself who are in need, taking in seniors and special needs dogs that otherwise would be overlooked by other rescues and so much more.
